albertlee Posted May 30, 2004 Share Posted May 30, 2004 Every time I restart my computer, in the toolbar, it always appears the search assistant....And Every time I close the search assistant in the toolbar, it always apears again next time when i restart the computer....... admiral_ju00 Posted May 31, 2004 Share Posted May 31, 2004 1st of all, if you don't already have one, get a nice little thingie called: SpyBot: Search and Destroy then, in IE, check the installed Objects. IE > Options > Settings > View Objects i usually delete the things here that i have no idea what they are and especially if they list some kind of URL or other garbage in it's description then check the Add/Remove Programs in control panel Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Moreover, according to Dave's link, it should work by the mean of registry: Use Search Asst = "no"..... It works on other's Xp, but why mine does not work???? Any way, I solve the problem by restoring my XP, but it is a bit also annoying on re-configuring, but still worth it.....
