1st of all, if you don't already have one, get a nice little thingie called:

SpyBot: Search and Destroy

then, in IE, check the installed Objects.

IE > Options > Settings > View Objects

i usually delete the things here that i have no idea what they are and especially if they list some kind of URL or other garbage in it's description

then check the Add/Remove Programs in control panel

Admiral, I have tried that program, but it still does not help......

Moreover, according to Dave's link, it should work by the mean of registry: Use Search Asst = "no".....

It works on other's Xp, but why mine does not work???? :-(

Does any one REALLY know how to disable the search assistant on the TOOLBAR for EVER?:confused::-(

Will be so apreciate for furthur responds :):)

What ever, Thx for all ur replies.....esp dave and admiral......

Any way, I solve the problem by restoring my XP, but it is a bit also annoying on re-configuring, but still worth it.....:)

Any way, this leads me to another kind of wandering......as I will raise another thread, about Registry....

thx for u guys...
