Conversion

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if you can be of assistance.

I am just wondering if ppm is the same as mg/l.

If not how do i convert it.????

Thanks for your help

I would have thought it depends on how many "parts" you get to the mg for that particular solute.

yup! what he said :)

a mg of Lithium will contain more parts than a mg of Lead.

Right. You need to divide the mass by the atomic (or molecular) weight' date=' which gets you the number of moles. And there are 6.02 x 10[sup']23[/sup] per mole (Avogadro's number)

there are 6.02 x 1023[/sup'] per mole (Avogadro's number)

the application of that is taken from Hydrogen, as that is how many atoms there are in 1 gram of it and Hydrogen has an atomic mass of 1
