Water Softening By Electrolysis

Featured Replies

Hello,

I want to convert hard water to soft water by the process of electrolysis. Hard water contains chlorides and sulphates of calcium and magnesium and bicarbonates of calcium and magnesium. Anybody got the idea of how to remove these salts by electrolysis can help.

Chances are good that (unless set up very precisely or you have platinum electrodes:)) you will just make the water "harder" from electrode corrosion.

Just my gut feeling I have nothing to go by.

:-)why you wanna do this by electrolysis as these is both time consuming and require precision too . add those reagents which can form insoluble complexes with calcium and magnesium .:)
