Lab Glassware acquisition

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm searching for a nice supplier of lab material to begin trying do some experiments at home. I've found this one: http://www.starscientificindia.com

I've heard that asian glassware aren't standardized, but they have the ISO. They have nice prices. What do you think?

Thanks! :)

You asked this as user thorazine on sciencemadness.org. You got their opinion. Indian and Chinese glassware is in general, garbage and you're better off buying pyrex or kimax stuff if you don't know the quality. It's pricier, but the odds of the pieces breaking in the long run is lower so you'll save money and much frustration.

UC,

I'm just checking others opinions (not devaluating SM's user opinions, obviously)! Thanks! Actually i think i find a portuguese VWR! Lets see what they say..

I personally have no problems with Chinese made borosilicate glassware, it all depends on the type of experimentation you're going to do really. I do have a couple of original Pyrex pieces though for special experiments :)
