I think there are something like 1787569 threads about this.

well all numbers go on forever (1.oooo..... and 34.6590000...... e.t.c.). 0.99999999....... is going to carry on forever but the '0' in front of it will always be there. there will always be nothing there. 1.000000000.... will always be 1.00000... with the 1 there. there is something there. there is 1, there is a whole number in front of it. a whole has been added to it. therefore 0.9999999.... cannot be the same as 1.0000000.....

Not again! Can someone lock this thread?
