Genecks
The question is not so simple: What is a cure? What does a cure do? Why is it a cure? What do you think? Is there a difference between a treatment and a cure?
big314mp
Google "define: cure" (no quotes). The first def it pulls up is pretty funny, in an ironic sort of way. I think a cure "resolves" a disease. And I think a disease is as aspect of someone's health that interferes with their daily activities.
Mr Skeptic
A cure is a successfully finished treatment. Treatment can be ongoing and need not ever actually solve the problem, but might lessen the symptoms or the progression.
Genecks
I consider a cure to be a magic bullet. It stops something dead in its tracks and prevents something from ever occuring again.

If I cure the cold I am catching just before having any of the effects then catch a cold 10 years later, I didn't "cure" it the first time? npts2020
Wow - you've found a cure for the common cold? you're going to be extremely rich I wish. But even if there was a cure it would probably be too much trouble for most people to follow since it would likely involve changes in diet, exercise, cleanliness habits, etc. rather than just taking a pill.
