buffers and pH! please help!!

Featured Replies

Tris is a widely used buffer in biochemistry and molecular biology research. Its molecular weight is 121.14g/mol. how many gram of Tris you need to male 1L of 1 M stock solution ? How many mL of water you need to make a 0.1 M Tris solution from 10 mL of 1M stock solution? If the 1 M Tris stock solution is labeled as 1000 X , what is the working concentration ? How many mL of stock solution you need to make 1 L of working solution?

Please help me with this!!!!!

gm of tris = 1L x 1M x FW (121.14) = 121.14 gm

if u have 1M solution and have to make 0.1M it means you have to dilute it 10 times. (1M/0.1M = 10 dilution factor) 1 ml of your stock(1M) and 9 ml of water to get 0.1M.

1000X you have to dilute it 1000 times ( not really feasible to have 1000X solution of tris)

pseudo, please do not simply post answers to homework questions. The reason being that the students won't benefit from doing homework if they are just copy the answers from some internet site.
