Cough pulse width

Recommended Posts

I am interested in length of time/duration of a cough pulse width in a healthy individual. I understand that there is a range of durations based upon variables such as burst duration, expiratory volumes, accessory muscles, etc.

Any help and references would be appreciated.

You mean like a cough on a respritory rythm graph? well theres that characterist smokers cough, you could immagine how that would look. And then with any type of restrictive airway desease it would have less amplitude, more frequent smaller coughs, or a longer cough with less amplitude. Bit of an odd question, kinda curious... I could only hypothesize that a healthy cough would look like it sounds, sharp angles on both sides of the curv with either a quick peak or a slight platou.
