Let us consider that a new element has been found. It has an atomic structure in such a way that it could only be placed on the s- block of the periodic table.Where can it be placed ,then? Will they form a new period??

Send me your suggestions, please

Which is the s-block?

But we've theorised about elements to quite a long way (theres probably another island of stability out there...) and the beauty of the table is that anything new can just be added on... with gaps before it where we know things should be but are yet to find/study them.

the s-block consists of the alkali metals and alkali earth metals.

if your looking at the periodic table its the two colums on the left.

where the element is placed depends on the number of protons. it could be just below francium or radium or it could be several below them
