what kind of eqipmement should I use to make nitric acid. I've heard that HNO3 will dissolve rubber. Could I use cork stoppers.:confused:

you can use cork, but you must wrap several layers of PTFE tape over them.

 

stick to using all glass ;)

carefull, nitric acid will burn anything not inert, but, as yt said, ptfe (teflon) tape is inert so it will not dissolve in the acid
