Problems with boomilever

Hey I am making a boomilever for a science project. Does anyone know how to either

a.) construct it- there is like no site that tells you how to do it

b.) construct joints so that it makes the boomilever stronger

 

Answers to both questions would be great. Links to sites would be great or just general info.

I tried that and I found hardly any stuff on what it is. Nothing on how to make joints into the balsa wood. Any other ideas. Anyone here an expert on towers and boomilevers?
