know0algebra
For the following function, C computes the cost in millions of dollars of implementing a city recycling project when x percent of the citizens participate.C(x) = 1.5x divided by 100-x any one know how to solve this
ydoaPs
What do you mean solve it? If you want it solved for C, it already is. [math]C(t)=\frac{1.5x}{100-x}[/math] If you want a numerical answer, you'll need a value for the percent of people participating. If you want a graph, I think it's a hyperbola. Write the entire problem statement and we'll see if we can help. By the way, we HELP with homework; we don't do it for you. If you want someone to do your homework for you, you've come to the wrong place.
Mr Skeptic
And if you want to find the maxima and/or minima of the function (as to find what percent of the citizens should participate to minimize costs), take the derivative and set it to zero, then solve that equation. I won't solve it for you though.

the tree
Also, I'm fairly sure that no such point exists, and it wouldn't be too useful if it did.
Country Boy
The real problem is that we were given a function and asked how to "solve it" but were never told what we were to solve! know0algebra, are you still with us? What, exactly, is your question?
aq1q
lol my thoughts exactly... what are we solving..? x? well thats irrelevant and meaningless if we aren't given more information
