Looks like the guys camped out demonstrating at the airports should be hanging around the forests and coal / gas fired power stations instead !

 

Both better than sitting in front of a computer in your air-conditioned house, it seems. Especially if you go there by bike. It would (for several reasons) be nice having a link to where you found the chart, though.

The camp at Heathrow includes protestors from other countries. I'm pretty sure they didn't get to Heathrow on their bicycles

Well, the CO2 levels used to be constant at about 300 ppm, now they are rising.

It's fair to assume that the difference is due to mankind. If that's true then the net contribution from natural sources is nil.

 

Pointing out that the fraction of CO2 emisions from air transport is fairly small is one thing. Recognising that it is due to the actions of a relatively small number of people is another.

Any idea how that translates to Gt CO2 used in the chart?

Natural CO2 emissions are absorbed by climate sinks. Climate sinks are basically negative feedback systems. Over half of all anthropogenic CO2 emissions are being absorbed by the same sinks.

 

 

Btw bascule your graph only shows fossil fuel CO2 which doesn't represent net anthropogenic CO2 production.
