help needed with controversial Phytomedicine theory

Hi!

I need help with the following theory on a phytomedicine mechanism-of-selectivity created by my pharmacist-

He believes herbal medicines are taken up as a complex (chemically bonded) consisting of a bioactive compound responsible for medicinal action (a phytochemical) surrounded by other (unknown) plant molecules. This complex would then be taken up by white bloodcells (neutrophiles) which delivers the complex to the target organ. At this site the complex then disintegrates and is ready to perform its healing actions. (This type of transport would, according to him, account for the fact that phytochemicals are often undetectable in serum while having a big impact on health)

Anyone believes this is possible?

Thanks alot in advance!!
