Well thier is an Hour Hand, a 2nd and a minute hand.

 

In the computer... it's a 'Frequncy' of switching eg. 4MHz machine.

 

What's it look like in the universe?

its a dimension. like the three spatial dimentions your used to. what you described were measuring devices akin to drawing a meter stick when asked to draw distance.

Simply, Humans define it. Just as we define everything.

 

It is the space between 2 points. We standardise the units etc...to make communication easier.

 

You cant draw distance though, just as you cant draw mass.. you can only measure these things because they have to be specified.
