If a magnet can hold 150 lbs of metal, will it repel a magnet with the same force when placing like poles towards each other?

YES, I believe the + and - terminals of a magnet are equal, just opposite charges.

 

 

But remember, the force, in this case, is dependant upon the distance.

...and the stregnth of the other magnet.

touching magnets, i would expect either equal or double force.

remember the inverse square law force = distance^-2

any distance will drop the force quite a bit.

if you look at distance though, it's not just the force from the surface of the magnet, it's the force from any of the aligned particles up the magnet so the inverse square law is blurred on the edges.
