Did I say I needed that? No. I have no idea how to do it.

Does wherever you got these questions from not explain all of these methods (googling will give you the methods too).

I suggest you start reading here - it should get you started

 

We will not do your homework for you but if you showed what you had tried and then people cna point out where you went wrong and give you hints to point you in the right direction

Next time, be upfront and honest with us, and loose the pathetic attempts of subterfuge, it`s insulting!

First one -Once you complete the square it should look like this:

 

(x+ 1/6)^2 - 1/36 = 2/3 (Then solve the equation)

 

Second one just plug these values into the formula.

a=2

b=-9

c=5

 

Third one - don't know (thats an english essay question, right?)

 

The fourth one =

 

y= ax2 + bx + c

 

You already know what c is (-2) and a value of y and x (4, -2)

 

2 = (a x 16) + (b x -4) - 2

 

To find a and b - you have to do yet another simultaneous equation. I'm fed up with these type of questions.

 

the fifth one -

Just solve the equation any way (quadratic formula etc)

Then write the x values as an inequality in respect to 0.

 

Answer to last one:

(3x +4)(x -1)

 

The rest is up to you - fill in the blanks.

1. 3x^2+3x-2x-2=0 //replaced x as 3x-2x

3x(x+1)-2(x+1)=0

(x+1)(3x-2)=0

x+1=0 so x=-1

3x-2=0 so x=2/3
