Bright flashes.

Featured Replies

Is it possible to create a flash simlar to the ones in the flashbang grenades?

Wiki says: "The filler consists of about 4.5 grams of a pyrotechnic metal-oxidant mix of magnesium and ammonium perchlorate."

of course it`s Possible!

^ We have the master of pyrotechnics here...

Just a warning flash powders can explode sometimes without warning and burn very hot and bright... If your intending to make some the best advice is probably not to try :)

They really fine powdered aluminum and Magnesium that you need for the really good flash's are really hard to find now because of like "terrosrist" restrictions .

Not really that hard to find... hard to find in stores and such but there are loads of places you can get them online...

Phosphorus is also great for this but rather unstable at times... I also heared silicon powder is good - anyone know anything about it?

well united nuclear doesnt carry it anymore im sure other site stopped also, do you know any sites that still carry it?

If you want to make a bright flash, just expirement. Ive made numerous "bright burning" mixtures. If you mix granulated magnesium and maybe some Al powder, and some strontium nitrate then you can get a slow burning red "flare" which will light up the entire garage. If you want a green flare use barium nitrate.
