Oxbridge students offered cash to write essays for lesser students

Featured Replies

Students at the UK's most prestigious universities Oxford and Cambridge are being offered many hundreds of pounds to write essays for other students.

The website describes itself as "the world's first vendor of custom-made essays written exclusively by members of either Cambridge or Oxford university". Oxbridge students can get paid up to £1,800 ($3,150) for a 2,000 word undergraduate exam answer done the next day, £2,250 ($3,900) for a 2,500 word undergraduate essay done the next day or £750 ($1,300) done within 6 days. The site is: http://oxbridgeessays.com/ and was set up by two brothers still studying at Birmingham and King's. All universities involved are said to be looking into it.

Dear me, that's awful. They should be held to account for fraud.

At least when I was there  (things may have changed) the degree you got depended essentially entirely on your exam results.

So getting someone else to write your term-time essays for you would be pointless.
