Quick question on video file

Featured Replies

This is really annoying me. I have this video file with the file name....

aaf.s09e14.R00

and I can't find an application that will open it. Anyone know?

The filename is aaf.s09e14.R00

Therefore the file extension is .R00 this is what you need to know to know what to open the file with.

.R00 is a WinRAR Split Compressed Archive, see here:

http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=R00

Basically get WinRAR and open that file with it, it's compressed, like a .zip file. You can download WinRAR from here:

http://www.download.com/3000-2250-10007677.html

Where did you get a file named like that from?

Oh, one sec, just read what I said, it's a WinRAR Split Compressed Archive, that means there should be other parts to it. So .R00 and .R01 and .R02 etc. you need them all and then you can unzip the lot into one file, WinRAR will automatically combine them.

So originally the person had a file. Then they zipped it (using WinRAR). Then they split it into lots of files (.R00 will be the first of any number of parts). You need to get all the parts then WinRAR will combine and unzip them all into the original file.

isn't that part of a .rar archive. i have several of those files but they are most definately NOT media files.

Beat ya to it! Ye it is a slightly different type of .rar file (see above post).
