When a baloon pops, what exactly makes the noise?

Featured Replies

np... just did a google search. You only really need to ask questions like that if you can't find something on google... (I'm not saying you didn't do that, but you know what I mean)

truthfully, it didnt occur to me to use google:eek: . but i figured, why not just ask some people who probably know what they're talking about, rather than scavange through endless web pages.

Probably know what we're talking about? The cheek! :P

Yeah, anyway, Google's "i'm feeling lucky" is magical.

I'm not sure I'm buying the story about breaking sound barriers in vinyl.

If I blow up a balloon, then let it go, it makes a sound also. Seems to me the bang of a broken balloon, could just be the sound of the balloon breaking, and nothing to do with sound barriers.
