Better than the gallows trapdoor, which has often been a less stable platform from which some last-moment interpretations are made. 😉

We're all standing on that platform, potentially, the realisation of which certainly focuses the mind. 😇

I used to hate it when KWs used to come to my door

I have had good and bad, one lady came regularly, very lovely.

We would have a cup of tea and discuss the Bible, life. She brought an "expert" one time because I told her that scripture did not align with science. (low hanging fruit)

He turned out to be a nervous confused gentleman and tried to convince me that all animals including humans were vegetarian before the flood.

Then this other guy came who took time to list his qualifications but then told me "not to worry about that."

I experienced what I believe is now called "Gish galloping."

When I answered one point he simply moved along in his script.

An arrogant frustrating individual.

Yeah, that is a JW belief. And they also believe that all animals including humans will once again be vegetarian after Armageddon.

It is my recollection that JWs also believe that it did not rain before the flood, and that the rainbow that occurred immediately after the flood was the first time a rainbow had ever been seen. Instead of rain, it was the humidity that sustained living things.

I had (still have) a good friend who was a Christadelphian, his views were similar to JW from memory.

He told me that Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible.

In JW literature, one often sees the earthly paradise of the future depicted as a well-kept park in which among other things, children are playing with lambs and lions.

I've been told that the Christadelphians are the closest to JWs in their beliefs,

As far as I can tell, the concept of the rapture, by John Darby, isn't expressly taught in scripture. In fact as a Bible student of ~30 years I would say it's not scriptural. The meek inherit what? Sin equals what? Flesh and blood can not inherit what? It doesn't fit.
