super condictivity

any body got any ideas on how to make electrical wires superconductive and keep them that way?

I was thinking that there would be a sleeve of liquid nitrogen around the electrical wires, with an energy absorbing system that used the thermal heat in the air around the wires to keep and produce more liquid nitrogen.

any one got some krazy ideas?

( i know i spell crazy wrong)

Sorry to but in. Since this message is about superconductivity then ......

Is there a formula connecting the levitational (lorentz) force of a bulk superconductor with it's pinning force? Does the pinning force increases with the lorentz force? Where can I find the answer?

what i was trying to say is thermal-kinetic energy in the air molecules themselves. as for temperature i'm talking about room temperature, outdoors temperature, etc. i just thought it would be cool to talk about taking the thermo-kinetic energy of the air around us and use it to compress the nitrogen in the air into a liquid and thus super cool the electrical wires. the problem that i see with it is how to grab that thermo-kinetic energy from the air.

you basically need a temperature difference to generate enrgy (i know the liquid nitrogen would provide this but it would cause the liquid nitrogen to heat up)

Good luck doing this cheaply - science is still searching for the superconductor at room temperature, right now it needs to be cooled down to near absolute zero (0K).

There are some good descriptions about this and a good one can be forums here :)

Hope that helps,

This would probably violate a law of thermodynamics. Heat is a very difficult and inefficeint form of energy, you cant take some heat and convert it to electricity without a very large amount of loss. I doubt the system you envision is possible.

'']I doubt the system you envision is possible.

And even if it is will will be highly ineffective though it could be possible not that it would work that well....
