I love microscopes, so this really caught my eye. There is little to no information on these guys online, other than a few very old articles. Does anyone have any experience with one of these? How much do they even cost?image.png

That looks like a scanning electron microscope. Depending on precise configuration new ones frequently run between half a million to a bit more than a million (at least those I looked at).

ive been doing extensive research on the price of one of these used, and cant find anything. assuming its working, id assume around 200k but what are your thoughts?

To answer your question in the title, the Zeiss Ultra Plus Microscope is a very powerful tool that scientists use to see things that are way too small for regular microscopes. Instead of using light to look at things, it uses a beam of electrons. This lets it zoom in much more and show super fine details, even at the level of atoms or tiny structures inside materials or cells.

That is impossible to answer as there are generally various configurations for SEMs. But depending on capabilities you are often looking at 60% or more of the original price for a working instrument.

I assume you refer to magnification? Generally zoom is not the term used here except for the idea of digital zoom (and in light microscopes zoom usually refers to continuous magnification objectives).
