Will the salt deposited on the surface of a piece of plastic cause dryness and cracks in the plastic? salt corrodes metals but does it dry out plastics?

Metal corrosion requires(?) moisture so I guess* the same would apply for plastics.

Also, as well as any environmental conditions, it may well depend on the type of salt being applied the type of plastic being used.

You should use a desiccant, or at least dry rice
