Copper Crystals without Copper Sulfate

Featured Replies

Hello,

is it possible to grow copper crystals without copper sulfate? Just by dissolving copper powder into water then applying voltage and current? Or any other way to grow Copper Crystals without using Copper Sulfate?

Thanks!

What kind of crystals you talking about? Copper is not soluble in water. You need ions, copper sulfate, copper chloride, copper nitrate, etc.

many thanks for the response! I have no idea about chemistry.

so these would work:

1. copper chloride + water + current

2. copper nitrate + water + current

Any other solution with copper powder?

Thanks!
