This is a great article (it could fit in Physics, Computer Science or Mathematics better than here but...)

It starts off with some cool animations of how colliding blocks behave, then reveals how the value of pi emerges from that, and then explains how that is equivalent to a quantum search algorithm. It is the closest I have come to understanding how quantum computing actually works!
