chemstudent
Does anyone have a suggestion for a relativly innexpensive general biology text that is formatted similar to Pauling's General Chemistry. Also in paperback. W
PhDP
inexpensive ? No... biology is too vast to be resumed to a short, inexpensive book. Are you are interested in a particular subject (physiology, ecology, evolution, genetics) ? The only real general textbook I know which cover most of the subjects of biology is Life: The Science of Biology, but it's quite expensive, and the quantitative aspect of biology aren't explained. blike
You probably won't find a comprehensive inexpensive book unless you buy one used. I recommend Campbell's BIOLOGY. I used that for Bio 1&2 in college and found it very well written. Here's a link to it's page: http://www.aw-bc.com/campbell/
