Nuclear Explosion

Featured Replies

I have a question, if a nuclear bomb say 100 megaton went off over the ocean, first off would it be too hot to cause a tsunami and secondly would the shockwave be strong enough to push a cloud of Methane but not catch it on fire?

i have no idea... though i'd really rather not have a nuclear bomb go off in the ocean in the first place. lol.

I'd suggest looking at the data available on the zillions of underwater nuclear tests that have been carried out, seeing as they are the thing you're curious about.
