I know there are many ghost stories in Europe. But why are some the wackiest, unspeakable fear, and bloody scenes took at Germany the most?

By comparison, Britian was very mild in those stories. German had some of the most bloody, disgusting history of myth. I mean their story are kinda freaking me out.
