I was able to build a machine to reduce torque with high ratios up to 1:700 gear box.

What applications in mechanical engineering I could use my new invention in?

Two set of gear box one with 1:14 and the other of 1:56 the total is 784

Torque is first reduced by 1:14 then stored in spring then the spring release its energy to the gearbox 1:56.

It looks like a variant of a toy car mechanism. My (rather limited) experiences says these kind of mechanisms are not suited for scaling up, but it works pretty good for small toys.

If you could scale it up to the size required to propel a ship and if it was smaller/lighter than the current gearing systems onboard them (two giant if's), there is potentially a big market. On a steam powered ship, turbines run efficiently at several thousand rpm while the propellers they power are most efficient at low (typically 100-300) rpm so there is a giant cluster of reduction gears to slow turbine speed down to propeller speed.
