Rate constant in second order reaction

Featured Replies

How do you solve for the rate constant in second order reaction? With the formula rate constant is equal to the rate over concentration. I read that the rate constant differs but in a first order reaction the rate constant is the same/ constant in every experiment but in asecond order, it changes.

Wrong spelling

There are two forms of second order reaction, and not suprisingly two forms of solution.

These arise because a second order reaction may come from two like molecules reacting

A + A = products

or two unlike molecules

A + B = products

Look at the bottom two entries in the table.
