Formula for electromagnetic levitation

 I ve been searching for formula I need for so long so I came here.

SO: I need a formula that expresses mehanic energy needed to levitate another magnet by electromagnet.

Idea is to express electric energy needed to levitate a magnet using electromagnet and than convert electric energy needed to mehanical energy.

Allso I want to know what parameters do you need to calculate this energy (like mass).

P.s. Eanglish is not my first language so if I didn't specify something or left something unclear, please ask me what I ment.

Thanks for your help

Not a problem.

[math]P = \frac{{{B^2}A}}{{2\mu }}[/math]

Where P is the raising force.

The formula comes from a simple application of the virtual work theorem.

You need to provide more detail of your experiment for more detailed information.
