How to easily detect EVOH

Featured Replies

I am using a barrier film that has an EVOH layer in the middle and I am looking for ways to test that the layer is actually there.  The EVOH reacts with iodine so I can cut a sample die it then look at the cross section under a microscope but this is tedious and was wondering if anybody had any other suggestions.  I do have some lab equipment but no NMR (I wish :) ).  Any thoughts?  Thanks?

Ethylene-vinyl acetate, polybutene-1 and linear low density polyethylene I believe there is also some other type of adhesive in between the EVOH layer and the EVA,LLDPE,PB layer but I don't know what it is.
