i burned my hand while grilling a few days ago. it looks like fresh scar tissue. after football practice this morning, it was like a blister. a few minutes later, it was back to looking like scar tissue. what caused the change? at first, i thought that it was from elevated heart rate, but it wasn't throbbing. kinda wierd.

it could have popped.

a blister is made when the cells explode, and release water - then it stays under the skin, to make the bubble.

when it pops it should look like dead skin (very white). Usually when you pop a blister you cut off the skin with it.

Well, that's pretty weird.

a blister should be filled with liquid, so i dont know how it "went back in". :-|

This is a guess -

The epidermis has separated from the dermis and will eventually peel off, that's what give's it the whitish look. After football practice, you were perspiring, but the damaged epidermis wasn't allowing the perspiration through as fast as it would have if it were still attached. However, it was able to seep out gradually and after a few minutes it was gone.

Did you immediately put your burned hand in cold water? It's amazing how much that helps limit skin damage.

when you were playing football you became extremely sweaty i'll bet. this caused the burn to swell with sweat. as you stopped playing or rested w/e it drained or dried.
