I need help getting started

Featured Replies

I am an autodidact in need of guidance. I normally just pick out a bunch of books on the subject I plan on learning, but I have not been able to find the mathematical elements-just the theories. If anyone knows any textbooks I can find on the Internet that serves as a good introduction, I would appreciate the help.

That's great, thanks. But I can handle the higher math levels. I'd say that as far as science goes, I've studied a good amount of chemistry and physics and some thermodynamics. For math I remember learning a lot of trigonometry, Algebra, and a fair amount of calculus. If this is still "low" (I wouldn't know how to measure my progress because I've never attended college/University, but I feel confident in the areas I've mentioned), then I would like to know what other requirements I'd need to meet.
