I like what MrL said:
Chemistry deals with the interactions between electron shells.Physics deals with EVERYTHING.
Obviously' date=' chemistry is a subset of physics.[/quote']
Science consists of either Physics, or stamp collecting.0 -
Isn't that kind of the point of the hw help section?

We've gone through the theory of Fourier Theory in Physics III, but the Math comes in Calc III....next year...

These programs are meant for protection and if there was a way past it (other then the user disabling it) then it would be quite useless. These programs are easily disabled for a short period of time. I had to disable mine once so that this site could put some cookies on my computer so that it could "remember" me so I wouldn't have to sign in everytime I come.
sounds like a software firewall
do you know what this/these program(s) are specifically?
ie. I use Norton Firewall, and they have a feature to allow certain sites to accept cookies from, and some not; allow some applications to access internet, and some block, etc.

my prof showed me a neat one today;
it's called emacs
haven't tried it myself, but indents accordingly, and yada yada depending on the type of characters, tags, etc. you put in
though it's a 50mb file

I didn't; I made it myself from the ground up. If you want to get started with programming in general, you need to either find a book, or an online tutorial.
whoops; i mean what programming language/compiler, unless you used straight-up machine language?
I've done spots of html, VB, Basic, and C, but no in-depth programming.
I think i should though. Programming is so important in Engineering & the Sciences.

There has to be some way to travel at lightspeed....or at least near it So I will find out what it is
Isn't that what the people @ CERN & the FERMI labs are doing w/ particles?
Aren't ninjas too big to be affected by Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle?blah
Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle only applies to the trivial case where the object is a particle.

When the 5 dollar discount was given, it meant that the bill came to $25, making each person pay (25/3) = $8.33. The manager took 2 bucks and gave back 3, meaning the bill came to $28 (25 + 3), making each person pay (28/3) = $9.33. Therefore, (9.33*3) + 2 = 30.

dave, I was looking through the site you put up, how would you explain this:
There are actually no negative numbers
Did you know there are actually no negative numbers? Think about it, have you ever actually seen a negative number of geese? Ever wonder why?
It's not what you think! The reason there are no negative numbers is simply that -1 is just another way of writing 1. Watch, I can prove it. I'll even explain it as I go along.
Certainly, you'll have to allow me to start with
-1 = -1
Then, if I divide both sides by 1, I get
-1/1 = -1/1
Now, we know that -x/y = -(x/y) = (-x)/(y) = (x)/(-y). It doesn't matter where you put the minus sign. So, from that we get
-1/1 = 1/-1
And, if we take the square root of both sides, we get
root(-1/1) = root(1/-1)
But we can split the square roots out, so
root(-1) / root(1) = root(1) / root(-1)
Now, we can cross multiply (to get rid of the fractions), and get
root(-1) * root(-1) = root(1) * root(1)
But surely root(x) * root(x) = x. That's the definition of root(x), so
-1 = root(-1) * root(-1) = root(1) * root(1) = 1
Which leaves us with
-1 = 1
Which is what I told you originally. So you can see that there really are no negative numbers.
If you don't agree, try examining the proof closely. You can see I supported each step along the way.
for me, it's the part with -x/y = -(x/y) = (-x)/(y) = (x)/(-y)

Unlike, say, Uberto Eco’s crazy overeducated head.
that's interesting

or you could use trillian: http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/downloads/
There's an IRC option. It'll ask you for servername, port, and channel.
After that, happy chatting.
Like lots of people talking at the same time? And is it text based or do you need a microphone and really talk?
Sry for so many ?'s.
text based, just like the MSN, AIM, Y!, or ICQ chatrooms

haha
*j/k
I'm planning to get a MBA as well if I stick with Engineering, although I'm thinking of switching into BioPhys/Phys right now.

I could afford a new mustang if i put down like 9 thousand. But then I would be depressed because my bank account would practically be wiped out.hehe
If you want the recent models, it'll cost ~$35 000 CAN +
But for the older models, I've seen some $10 000 CAN or less

Looks nice (both of them)
WHat program are you going into?

THe LD50 is 60mg; but theres no more than 3-4mg that reaches the smoker per cigarette, and its metabolized quickly. Take 20 of the nicotine gums and chew them all at once tho... you'll probably die.
LD50?
Is LD = Lethal Dosage?
What is 50 for?
& what about those who chew tobacco?
Isn't that bad then?

Wow cool; good for referencing w/ my Serway.

TOS was...cheesy to me.
DS9 had too much going on I think.
I never watched much of Voyager, thoguh I think it's pretty good the ones I've watched, it's not TNG level.

Good for what... it's slow, ugly, asian...reliable, fuel efficient, good bang-for-buck
well I cant really afford anything like that so i have to go with the civic I guess... unless I can find something else. Also in that price range are the Mitsubishi Lancer, Toyota Corolla, Nissan Sentra, Mazda 3, Chevrolet Cavalier, Ford Focus, and that's about all I can think for now
would a cute chick or a vanity license plate make me cooler?lol
I dontk now, but maybe you can get Faf's empty nitrous tank and pretend its yours.

coma, blackouts, death from overdose in the short term... physical dependence with possible death from withdrawal, liver failure, etc.
What concentration in alcoholic beverages are needed for those effects?
Or is any little amount sufficient for those things you mentioned..
