  1. i have found a chemical which skylighter will ship to england and that chemical is the one which i want Bismuth Trioxide it cost about $21 for 1 pound so about £11 but its the only place that i have found which will sell it

  2. hold on i have just had a look and what i thought were the new safer chemicals were in fact not them anyway i can get hold of red lead aluminium ect now i just need to find what the new safer ones are where did you post saying what the chemicals were YT

  3. the chemicals which they do use in the safer mix are also a little harder to get hold off and more expensive then the red lead and aluminium, other wise if i knew where to get them they would be the chemicals which i would use for the dragon eggs

  4. DON`T!' date=' it`s a grade A way to win a Darwin award! :((

here`s a question for you all, how come I was trained spelling it as "Thermit" and you lot spell it as "thermitE" with an E at the end?

what`s the diff (other than the obvious) and Why?[/quote']

i know the lead oxide thermites are dangerous but i was thinking only a few grams eg 3-5g and a full sparkler which would give me about 1 minute to get away i just want to do it for the experience in all the different thermites i have already tried the copper oxide and iron oxide one thats why i wanted to try the lead oxide one

  5. I had several kilo of track welding thermit, Mg ribon was virtualy useless, the sparklers worked every time though, and this was factory made thermit as used by the pros.

where can you buy that from and in my opinion sparklers are the best source of inition for things like these that remindes me what are sparklers made out of

Edit: also that thermite seems to be quite tame just guessing from the picture because one's which i have made burnt quite violently and spat molten iron alot

  6. Today i set of my smoke bombs in my back garden and to be honest in the open 45g is not that bad it produces a LOT of smoke in a couple of seconds and stays around for a few more but after a while it goes all though my neighbour did come out to see where all the smoke was coming from but she was'nt really that botherd and i asked her not to tell my parents which she wont do because we get along very well as neighbours:)))) and so i am deciding to make some more maybe this time about 1-2 pounds worth that will be a great smoke screen i have also concluded that

    1. if you put the mixture in a cardboard tube with one end sealed the smoke last's twice as long all though it does'nt come off as fast and not as thick

    2. if you put the mixture in a cardboard tube with no ends sealed it produces a nice thick screen of smoke and last for quite a while

    3. if you dont put the mixture in any container and light it it burns very fast, a very thick dense smoke screen but it all goes in a couple of seconds so either option 2 or 3 are the better ones and if you have a large enough mixture e.g. 1-3 pounds option 3 would be the better one for a nice quick dense smoke screen, which should last quite a long time if you have large enough amounts

Edit: also sparklers make excellent fuse's mine gave my about 1 minute to stand back so i decided to cut them in half and have a 30 second fuse and dont light a smoke bomb indoors the smoke would be even worse indoors because it has no where to go

  7. im not really botherd about the price that much i just dont want to be ripped of like the magnesium ribbon from http://www.kno3.com hopefull i can get 25g for £3.30 at this chemical supplie store, just waiting for an email back

Edit: which will work better as a fuse magnesium ribbon or sparklers

  8. or i could spend the money on sparklers instead of fireworks :D if i find a shop over the internet in belgium which sell visco fuse would they ship it over here do you know i mean 6 pound for 50 meters i'll be lighting the visco fuse just for the hell of it,

  9. no the salt peter or also know as potassium nitrate sold at garden centers would not effect the reaction the potassium nitrate at garden stores is about 98-99% pure its fine for any reaction you want to do with it
