  1. ok... either i misunderstood or its written wrong or something... if he answers false he kills him quickly, if he answers true he kills him slowly right? or vice versa? either way hes going to kill him so "you are going to kill me" and "you cant kill me, im unkillable" arent paradoxes(parawhatses? hows the plural go?), its true, the guy is going to kill him. if the riddle were that he dies for a false statement and lives for a true one it would make sense. im gonna go reread the riddle now, sorry if i misunderstood.
  2. warcraft? or did warcraft copy that from somewhere else?
  3. it will hit a little bit off given any distance and any movement, the only difference is how much. it will be very very close. probably undetectable by any means we currently possess. (but still off)
  4. your probably beating the hell out of your liver. more extreme by trying to make it filter all that at once? not sure. there is always the risk of triggering alcoholism, but i wouldnt worry too much about that.
  5. i think its more of a psychological thing than a physical stimulus. there is a certain thrill that comes along with contact with another person, especially someone your on good terms with as mentioned above.
  6. iv noticed that too... one time i was cutting some cheese and had the wrong side of the knife facing down (yeah yeah, i know... ) and all i noticed at first was that it wasnt cutting, then i looked at the finger i was pushing down with and it started hurting. wierd.
  7. she may not have felt any pain. nerves come to the surface like pores. put your fingertips on a table with your palm a couple inches off the surface. think along those lines, its possible to insert something small, like a needle, without hitting nerves (something i learned from my diabetic friend, sometimes she just doesnt feel her shots). it may be she was screaming out of panic (something i have witnessed on several occasions with children), or that when you alerted her to it she moved it while trying to look and hurt some nerves in the process.
  8. cause the earth is curved? (this would require a very interesting definition of "straight up" but its the only reasonable answer i can think of)
  9. if you can make a picture of it to send us, then just take a screenshot of it and post that. there is no way we are going to be able to recreate it unless you go into the lengths and angle measurements. i cant figure out which direction BH is going.
  10. hot damn! the answer i was always told doesnt do anything with probability. i have never seen anyone actually look into it that deep. heres the anwer i got (and was told was correct): for the first guy to get it wrong he had to either see 2 reds or a red and a white. if he saw two whites he would know the color of his hat was red. so the second guy knows that if the blind guy has a white hat, his has to be red, or the first guy wouldnt have guessed wrong. so the fact that the second guy gets it wrong too means that the blind man didnt have a white hat, it had to be red. the third guy puts it all together and goes free..
  11. good logic. i think thats a fairly reasonable aswer. not the one im looking for though.
  12. the only downside of caffiene they told us in the addictive drugs section of health class was that it decreases bone mass if you have too much. something about dissolving calcium or helping it flow out of the body instead of being used... something like that, i dont remember exactly. also, its a diaretic. youll pee a lot. as for dehydration... i dont know if i buy that one, i have gone periods of a month or two drinking literally nothing but mountain dew.
  13. thats all hogwash, its magic. *moves his hands in that shifty magician way* but yeah, its because the side that hits first slows down first, turning the wave. if it goes in straight it doesnt bend at all.
  14. they know how many hats of what color there are. they see the other two guys hats. hint: the blind guy doesnt know (or need to know)the color of the other guys hats. he doesnt need to hear their guesses either. only that they were wrong.
  15. there are only 3 people... not 5.
  16. there are only 3 people total. and no, thats not how he knows. the answer is not something you set up. all the conditions and information to be used in getting the answer are already in the problem. as in "the first two people guessed red and got it wrong they were wearing white hats" is an assumption you cant make.
  17. "still drunk" and still managing to put that post together? impressive. "Might sound stupid to you but it´s elementary (1st semester) math " actually i just wanted to use the word tomfoolery. but where is that first semester math? you mean in college?
  18. well... all of those (rational numbers, real numbers, complex, etc.) fall under the catagory of "numbers." so since his question asks about how many numbers between them, its infinite. and whats this tomfoolery about countable vs uncountable?
