  2. I love the whole Idea of time travel. If it twere possible, I think that people would be amazed. much the same way that the first fire started was startled by fire. Or when watching televisions Star trek sparked cell phones from the ever so popular communicator! Or even the horseless carriage....   4. Yep profitable. I use my mind to distinguish things in diverse and complex situations. how could understanding of relativity profit me? Simple. It provides me with entertaining thoughts of the what if, it spawns imagination and intricate thought. It shows me the difference between ignorance and genius and all the grey matter between those too that are very relative. Remember not all treasures are gold and silver, but treasure can come in many diverse and unique profits beyond that of which monetary mediums could ever afford.   5. I dont think we evolved from apes or dogs or fish or birds. It doesnt follow religious belief or even creation stories. Sure its a possiblity and its interesting to imagine but it isnt something that can be proven without a doubt. The many followers of the religion called evolution have run into blockades with the theories they have suggested. I think we do evolve though in some senses like from being a baby to being a man to being an old man to being venerable to being dead and beyond. The word for that is aging though not evolution. I like the idea of evolving linguistics and find that historical linguistics evolved in recorded history from minority to majority for english speaking people. Its very interesting to me that most the world speaks english and languages all point to english as being the top spoken language on earth. But what is the second most common language? would it surprise you to know spanish is the second most common spoken language? A sister language of english they are very similiar, the third most common language is french. Also sister language to english.

  8. its not even 20 feet up over the span from fence to fence. More then half of it is level ground about 150 foot is up hill from pond to top of hill lets use the figure of 20barg as you suggested Ill look for the barometer and see what it says
  9. Im not sure what 20 barg means. It is a measurement of vacuum? I plan on pumping it uphill using a sump pump perhaps yes its less then a 20 feet rise over 300 and 600 feet Ill look on my map for elevation difference

  11. 3) Im actually planning on hooking into the drip valves with both lines alternating back and forth pump from the storage tank and pump from the pond. 2) 4 inch piping is what I plan on using for this and I am also considering putting 2 sprinkler heads on the ends that I can turn on and off like the drip lines 1) Flowrate for the drip valves im not sure really........I havent figured out what would be acceptable what range would I be looking at? I would assume the drip system will be flex pvc 1 inch and about 50-100 foot section with holes running ever 5 feet on each side The valves will be able to be turned completely off and bypassed so that I can irragate each section individually. we will label those 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 1 and 6 2 and 7 3 and 8 4 and 9 5 and 10 there will only be 5 drip lines but two entry points one from the pond one from the storage tank. The reason for this system to be alternating is because 5000 gallon tanks dont last long for water irragation and having to fill that tank up from the well takes along time 4-5 days generally with intermediate stops due to water pressure being so low. Yes Im in a low water area and trying to maintain a pond and irrigation utilyzing every possible resource just to keep the place green.

What your telling me is that just a wave phenomenon and if it were one photon it couldnt have happened? The relevance of a singular photon versus a pair of photons is what? What was seen using your perception? I am using seen in regards to my own perception of what I read from an article and the data from the experiment. I would love to understand the relevance of this violation of SR. And I can already here people saying this is not a violation of SR, how is this not a violation of SR. Care to explain why your perception indicates that this is not a violation of SR.   13. OK I am here for ideas to elaborate a system to irragate 6 acres of ground using solar energy and a generator to jump start the system. Let me set up the idea here. 300 feet pumped uphill from a water well then 1000 feet to the edge of the property and downhill about 600 feet into pond, overflow going into a creek 300 feet is pumped straight without a break in the line at the turn going across the hill about every 100 feet I will have a drip system that is on/off so that I can water that section using gravity to drain the water back to the pond and/or creek Now to the area that I want to utilyze to produce some electric feedback to charge a bank of marine batteries say 10 marine batteries. Perhaps using gravity and turbines inside a length of pipe on the downside of the slope heading to the pond. The question is could I generate enough electricity to run a pump to siphon water back to the top of the hill using this system or would I need a constant energy source to maintain the system?

  15. I think norman abler is correct. Superlumial speeds were attained in the wave packet. because of the barrier that forces quantum tunneling. But how doesnt this break special relativity? I see that the photons went faster then 300,000 km per second according to the sensors in the experiment, and even if it is just a brief reconfiguration of a phase the photon actually surpassed that speed. According to special relativity Under No circumstances will that speed be surpassed. I read the links swanton and I was amazed that it has been the last 6-7 years that this has been questionable. I also see the dilemna you were talking about Swanton and I think I understand better now but it still excites me that the speed was surpassed. Where does one go from here? Redefinition? I wonder how Einstein would explain this in SR and R.

  19. That makes sense swansont. Yes I agree I can learn more about this area of physics, as in phase velocity but I have do have a grasp of the theory of relativity. A grasp that can be inductive of learning and growing of this area. When I read the headliner, I was at first drawn to the headline like a commericial but upon reading the experiment and understanding that in instances that were controlled and manipulated speeds faster then light occurred which were popularly thought to be unattainable by a few. Norm...how was my question trash talk? Because I asked what it would mean to relativity if the speed was broken? That is not trash talk. It is questioning a conclusion. Forgive me. In my excitement about the possibilities that are presented by proof of an object going faster then the speed of light, I tend to be overbearing and inpolite. It is a character flaw and in no way am I here to insult anyone with my questions. So again I will ask my question. What does this experiment mean to the the scientific community at hand. If an object goes faster then the speed of light is relativity broken? Does the rear of the train actually get to the end of the tunnel before the head of the train?
  20. Though your points are interesting, I fail to see the relation to the case at hand. If Light travels at 300,000 km and something travels at 300,001 km that surpasses the speef of light. Thus breaking what Einstein theorized in his relativity and special relativity. Would you agree with that statement? So the scientists tunneled a few photons faster then the speed of light. It is reproducable. Do you agree with that statement? now if the above are concrete which they appear to be then isnt it fair of me to say that the speed of light ,which is one of the cornerstones of relativity, needs to be discarded or ammended and things that rely on the unwavering speed of light can be better explained with this new piece of knowledge. So basically dude my brian is intact and willing to be be like a reed within the wind bending instead of breaking. I have several years working with wavelenghs and ionization as well as electricity and acid but that is regardless really as we are not in a pissing contest here are we?
  21. much the same way that 50 years ago computers were ridiculously inefficient. as per the damage to other devices, I can see this being a problem but only until it is further designed and and debugged. I find it fascinating that it will be able to recharge different sources by passing through it. There will be safeguards im sure and things will advance in efficient means and ways much the same way computers went from warehouse sized ineffective to smaller then the palm of my hand in the last 50 or so years. The idea and application of this technological advance are sound, now the implementing and advancement of this technology need to become sound.
  22. So basically you are implicating that I know nothing of physics. The fact remains that scientists have shown reproducable proof that the speed of light barrier was surpassed. You refute the claims with the steadfast "Nothing can go faster than light" Yet, the proof is within the pudding. Why not open yourself to the new idea that Einstein's relativity might indeed be flawed and the things in which you have learned throughout your learnign process might need to be reconsidered altogether. Too hard to handle isnt it. Well the earth isnt flat my friends and the fact that one scientist theorized it was indeed round changed everyones thought pattern. Outrage was the response. Hold to old science if you will, but dont stand ignorant when proof is shown in light of what you know to be fact, be open minded and research to your own conclusion. I, personally like to think on the what if's and this indeed poses a big what if to everyone. What if the world is round!?
  23. Can you imagine wireless energy. I am a devoted follower of Tesla and his mad scientist approach to electricity. The man was absolutely a genius and his invention never came to light. Well, until august 17 2007 when a light bulb was remotely ,7 feet away, illuminated by witricity. Witricity is Wireless electricity and the distance though only 7 feet was successful.Time will see greater distances and advances in remote electricity. Tesla claimed to be able to remotely wirelessly light a field of lightbulbs 15 miles from the generator! How great a feat is that. The man was proven to be a genius by many of his theories come reality for instance alternating current. Though, his theoryused in this witricity experiment I must say was much more successful! On august 17th 2007 ,more then 100 years after Teslas death, a use for wireless electricity became needed and his ingenius mind set the next scienctific breakthrough into motion.Technology and science walking hand in hand!
