  1. Yes. Instead of admitting he only has anecdotal evidence, he victimize his grandmother and appeals to pity. Caps is not cruise control for cool, and it doesn't make you more right. No. People are able to keep lying even when confronted.

Strawman. Also, completely missing the point. Again; wouldn't you be better off fighting the unjustices of true religion (mutilated children, child marriages, withholding medication due to religious reasons) rather than attacking a holiday in which children are getting gifts and people are more charitable than the rest of the year, regardless of motivation? It just seems like a giant waste of time and energy.

Until Santaism causes as much grief and destruction as the major religions, our energy is better spent on fighting those than rob children of a reason to get gifts.
  4. People in general are smart enough not to donate to this fraud. How on Earth does that make him any more credible? Where are the hard evidence any of this happened? "Frank said so" does not count.
  5. No. Ignoring, for a moment, the impossibleness of SHC, the lack of tangible evidence, lack of doctor's reports and lack of photographs of the burns, and we're left with a Frank Baker who either doesn't exist, or is a liar. http://www.thepurpleheart.com/recipient/ Edit: Also, the TV show this is from is an entertainment show, not a documentary show.
  6. I believe this is it: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/01/frank-baker-spontaneous-combustion_n_4024833.html
  7. If there's something there, which can only be found there, but can be brought back, that means it can also be relocated by other means. Also, even if there was an item that could only be moved by this magical teleportation you suggest, it wouldn't be evidence of a god. It would, at the very best, be evidence of magical teleportations.
  8. Where in the Quran does it say this? What other sources have you used?
  9. For me, it's not about signs, it's about evidence. As for your hypothetical scenario, it would be evidence of a strange event which would be interesting to investigate. God? Not really, as there are likely to be more plausible explanations. All this assuming, of course, that there are evidence of me actually being at home to begin with, so I didn't just imagine it. Also, I'd have to be quite certain someone didn't plant the item without me knowing.
  10. Does a white sheet of paper have a surface? If so, what colour is it? How would the answer affect your reasoning?
  11. "This is not a glare from the sun, nor is it an artifact of the photo process." I'll suspend that judgement until I can have a look at a higher res pic.
  12. Yes, it's a joke, but not the way you think. Or actually, the way you think is. Are you honestly so morally corrupt that in the case of protestors attacking a gay pride parade, you blame the people in the parade for being out at all? You know, demonstrating for equal rights for everyone? You really need to either learn English, or start spreading your propaganda on Russian sites instead. Because it's obvious you're not taking in a single thing that's been said here, and I suspect it's due to the language barrier. Do you also think it's okay with slaves, as long as there's only like 15 of them? So what? Two wrongs don't make a right.
  13. Read up. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Violence_against_LGBT_people Russian version, as far as I can tell: http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9F%D1%80%D0%B5%D1%81%D0%BB%D0%B5%D0%B4%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%B5_%D0%B3%D0%B5%D0%B5%D0%B2,_%D0%BB%D0%B5%D1%81%D0%B1%D0%B8%D1%8F%D0%BD%D0%BE%D0%BA,_%D0%B1%D0%B8%D1%81%D0%B5%D0%BA%D1%81%D1%83%D0%B0%D0%BB%D0%BE%D0%B2_%D0%B8_%D1%82%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%BD%D1%81%D0%B3%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%B4%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%B2 There's a big difference between a gay pride parade and a programmers parade. Nobody is persecuting programmers because they are programmers. And nobody is throwing lawyers in jail for being lawyers (arguable, but still). So, I'd wager, for a lot of people, the parades are a way of bringing this persecution to light. Sure, it would be great if they wouldn't need it, and would simply be able to live their own lifes. But as long as people are hurting and killing them because their sexual preference, that's not going to happen. One can argue whether a parade is the best way to do it, but something needs to be done, which is even more apparent because of your statements in this thread.
  14. Would we be able to support a population that lives longer (effectively increasing the amount of concurrent people on the planet), seeing as we've got some problems supporting what we've got?
  15. Soak it in a bath consisting of water and a dishwasher tablet (this kind) for a few hours or through the night. Those things work magic with resistant stains on utensils and whatnot. Coffee mugs become crystal clear, for example. No guarantees it'll work on ink, but at least I don't think it'll hurt the material.
  16. Personally, I'm pretty satisfied with your summary, so thank you. Naturally, to get the full picture one would probably have to dig deeper, but now we've got at least the basic idea. Forgive me for questioning motives while going through the above, but is your reason to post this information solely that of spreading awareness of these events? Or is this something you'd like to have a discussion about - repression of science, threats against scientific journals etc?
  17. http://www.scienceforums.net/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules Rule 2.7, the part about being able to participate without clicking links. You've posted a few times, being angry about some kind of defamation? And I, personally, really still have no idea what, exactly, has happened. Who said what to who?
  18. I'm on a phone at the moment, so can't try, but the [ code] tag might work.
  19. That is a good point, except some people never seem to learn from their mistakes. I'm in strong agreement with ACG52.
  20. One book I found, which seems to be pretty much what you want, is "Hacking the Future: Privacy, Identity and Anonymity on the Web" by Cole Stryker. I haven't read it myself, but the reviews seem generally positive. http://www.amazon.com/Hacking-Future-Privacy-Identity-Anonymity/dp/1590209745
  21. Well, the first step, I guess, would be to figure out the frequency of the universe. Do you know it?
  22. Care to enlighten us on this evidence of yours then?
  23. Your numbers are lacking units, and are also wrong.
  24. Sometimes, the journey really is the goal. I really think you should give it a go, just for the hell of it. That doesn't mean you can't use premades as a source of informationor inspiration. But one thing; if you decide on a buzzer or horn, don't place it on your helmet unless you're sure it won't cause permanent hearing damage.
