  1. Fixed. Yub, you're right. For some reason thou I absolutely detest reading from the computer, and if I have to read something, I print it out.
  2. While it is a fugly oversized/overgrown bird, it needs to be saved.
  3. A while ago, I've read somewhere that a water melon is about 80-85% water. Don't know about the seeds as obviously both will germinate when planted. Before trying it out, I used to assume that the white seeds(on the supposed seedless melon) were juvenile versions of the black seeds.
  4. Not sure what you mean by 'FP' so I take it wasn't aimed at me, but I'm sure that between you and Sayonara, you guys can come up with something. Like I said, one of the other forums I go to, half of the merchandise that they offer simply has their URL. That was how they started out with. Later on, they found some after market parts shops that would sell merchandise at a reduced price to the members as well. In that later case, all 3 parties benefited.
  5. I'm not sure and while I have not heard of such tests being conducted(or possible), thus far, I only had a few courses in Geology(not my main focus for the time being), but I'll look it up for ya. No, sorry, not a creationist. I had that link/article for a while, but never read it fully, I thought that it was a bit more from a scientific perpective, guess I was a bit off there. Phi for All, you liked my Howard Stern avatar better than R. Lee Ermey? Hmm, since I can't find Ermey in a bigger size(and too lazy to do it myself) I was thinking of going back to it.
  6. I don't think NSA has ever used one or will. Perhaps you were thinking of NASA?
  7. I'm not going to check every other forum out there to dispute that, and I'm not condemning it. I just think that there's some more room here. Either way, it's a cool idea. Is there any chance you can add this to the lot? http://www.matthewmodine.com/pictures/ermy_yelling.jpg
  8. Is that it? Anyway to expand the list or something and where are the above mentioned pics kept?
  9. test damnit, how do you get different pics for the bubble???
  10. Damn, I'm neglecting this thread for some reason. On a side note, I simply love it how creationists take quotes as a statement of fact from a book that was published over a century ago.
  11. This is something that is done on the other forum I use(well, not really the ebay thing - that would be redundant, IMO), but it helps the admins offset some of the costs for keeping the site running. Why don't you guys start out with like bumper stickers or t-shirt/t-shirt stickers with this site's URL, etc. That way both parties get the benefit. Yeah I know that one can always go to a company and get exactly that, but why doing that when the money could go to blike(maybe sayo as well) for their troubles?

    Insomnia

I've never (yet) experienced insomnia, so I do not know of a method that would work for me or you directly(as they would vary from person to person), but since you have some extra time on your hands, I'd start checking this website out: National Sleep Foundation Or you ofcouse could seek professional help of a Psychologist for something of a therapy or pill.
  13. There are some interesting debates about the early members of our species, that I'd like to share and have a debate here. Is visual thinking mean the same thing as symbolic thinking? Can a picture drawn of some object be though of as symbolic - therefore requiring a more complicated though pattern or is it merely an icon? Some of the earliest, most detailed artwork found was the one by the Cro-Magnons. That is highly suggestive that the Cro-Manon(humans) who lived from about 40,000-10,000, was the first early members of the genus Homo that was able to process all 3 of the components that clearly separate us from all other animals on this planet. Those being and ability to use and process: Icon, Index, Symbol. But were they the first of all the members of the genus Homo to be capable of abstract thinking? For example, it IS the most common misconception about the Neanderthals in that they were nothing more than dumb brutes, hence the selection dealt against them, where as Cro-Magnons continued. What do you think?
  14. While were on the same or similar topic here, Glider, do the free radicals have the same effect on the neurons(or even the brain in general) as they do on other cells? I'm pretty sure that the answer is yes, but not 100% sure. If so, have there been any cognitive deficits directly linked to them? Any links or journal sources would be great.
  15. I hate you!!!(all the fossils in KY are blasted aquatic) . - just kidding. Although my brief fossil hunting in Death Valley, Cali, was fun, but naturally you can't take anything out of there. Grrrr Here are some linky's for ya. http://www.usgs.gov/ http://www.fi.edu/fellows/fellow1/oct98/create/ http://wrgis.wr.usgs.gov/docs/parks/deva/devastrat.html http://www.science.ubc.ca/~geol202/rock_cycle/rockcycle.html http://www.ridgenet.net/~do_while/sage/v8i8f.htm
  16. No? Are you absolutely, positively sure of that? Surely if the deep ocean pressures can crush a Military grade Submersible, and the pressure, temp, etc, is much much greater on say Saturn, it will do the same with a flimsy probe. Right? Unless the probe entering Saturn simply ceases to abide by the laws of physics as we now know them......Hmm.....
  17. According to ExtraSence, they have been doing that quite often these days
  18. How did you come up with that? Heh, that's the funniest thing I've heard. Dyno's died oh some 65mya. The primates didn't appear 'till about 14mya. The Genus Homo didn't appear 'till about some 2.0-2.5 mya. See the difference?
  19. You tell me, I'm not a physicist.
  20. Hmm, some of the above mentioned people started out way way early, eh?
  21. Because the crushing pressures would be much greather towards the core than in it's outmost atmosphere. As far as the probes/sattelites, I'm sure that they has some kind of protection. But then to provide enough shielding on a satellite that will let it 1) reach the core of such a planet. 2) Survive and 3) To still be able to send data back would be astromonically expensive. Even if NASA got enough funding to make one such probe, they will still be taking a huge chance and may not get any data back that will justify the cost.
  22. Now, I gather that by the above mention of "Cold Fusion" you're talking about a mechanical device and not a programming language, right? But then again, isn't Cold fusion the same thing as a Perpetual motion device? In which case they might have built it, but it just didn't work.
  23. No, there's quite a few more than 'several' varieties of multicellular life in the ocen by the geothermal vents. But then again, the conditions near those vents(even considering all the pressure) is insignificant when compared to what a gas giant has. Plus most of the sattelites or probes that were shot into these giants didn't last very long.
