  1. Not sure what I did...Was I the only one you warned.....So I'm not to reply to post that are in responces to my post....or maybe its my point of view? how about the guy who called me stupid after I quit posting because we had gotten off topic?....In my mind name calling is a more serious problem than anything I did...

  2. You decided what part of the world I call leaders.... fancy word suffrage....Still its a right ...one of many that women demanded... Egypt may have had its day but we have very little EVIDENCE that it ruled anyone but the jews and know little about the rest of the world in that time My whole statement was full of the only kind of studies we will ever be able to do on the topic and to call me a racist should get you banned The only empire we know to have had any real rule over anything was the Ottoman and the Persian empire and they ruled over their own and were forced back when trying to take the west and could only deal with the east instead of fighting them......By the way I would consider the east as one of the leaders and this would go to prove I'm not a racist and the ming empire would go to prove my point. The cradle of civilisation more was a result of that is where the people bread more quickly than it was a result of how smart the people were. Why do you not look it the parts of the world that are doing well and ask yourself where their government started....what lead to them having more. Some people will always claim we are all the same in spite of all the EVDENCE NBA NFL your high school debate team You are right thou....this is no plce for this topic.......I just can't let you think your smart just cause u can spel. this will be my last post here
  3. I can agree that women rights lead to them going to work , being less dependent on men waiting longer to have kids, but the right to vote was the result of women rights not the cause of it. Egypt would be broke if it were not a relic. And most of the middle east would still live in dung huts if it was not for the smart parts of the world needing their oil. South Africa was almost a world power before they did away with apartheid and the natives took over. Now they have taken over the white owned farms, let them get overgrown and depend on my tax dollar to feed them. Let's have a national holiday for Nelson Mandela. Frequent natural disasters?.....like Cuba or China? Who are not dependent on my tax dollars. Rampart Disease? Stupid people live Dirty. inter city disease rates are higher and school grades are lower....huh Wars over stupid things... Economic of stupid people Defended by............ Continent is not the problem as South Africa would tend to prove. Certain parts of the world have been leaders forever. In America where we throw them all in one classroom or job sometimes it shows why. Some people like to think we are all equal. But even if we are we could have different talents or faults and maybe we should be treated different.
  4. Ever since 'we gave women the right to vote' (were you somehow involved?), the rate of population increase has been decreasing. So you are certainly wrong that it has 'been going this way' ever since that day. I am a citizen of the USA. The baby boom had ended therefore the rate of increase decreased. And 'the thinking is I can not feed my first kid so let's have 3 more'... really? You're stating that every African mother has no power to make basic logical inferences? High numbers of children per woman is associated with areas of high infant mortality and low life expectancy. I don't presume to know what every African mother is thinking, but I imagine it's more along the lines of "I want at least one child to survive to adulthood" and "We don't have any method of dealing with unwanted pregnancy". Could it be that the people from these places are just stupid? Would that not explain why people in places with lots of natural resources and an almost year around growing season still depends on " OUR " aid. ( OUR as a US citizen, I had nothing to do with that neither ) The point of my first tread was that floating citys is going to happen in some form, but I don't think it will be to house people as much as it will be a place for rich people to get away from the miss this world is/will become because some people LUV people. And I do not think that we should take women rights....in my thinking women are more caring ( thank God I hope ) and that has forced a more caring government even thought in my mind that is not the job of government.
  5. I did not mean to change the subject......population control is going to became a must in the future and the strongest country is going to be the ones with enough balls to do the hard stuff first. I'm not going to kill dumb people or nothing....but in Africa they can't feed themselves and the population is growing. The thinking is I can not feed my first kid so let's have 3 more. Here in USA we give people a tax break for having kids even thou those of us with no kids still support schools and other thing for kids with our taxes...sound like we should get a tax break for not having kids...We have people having kids to get bigger welfare checks. How about we implant birth control in all women at 13 and only after you prove you have a dad for the kid, money to support the kid, and an IQ high enough to raise a kid, will it be removed. The worst side effect is no unwanted kids. Here in Va. we had a liberal governor say the state was sorry for a policy in the 60's that keep retards from breeding. The thought that we are all created equal and should all have the same rights is crap. I think you should be tested or have to earn your rights but ever since we give women the right to vote its been going this way.
  6. I read something about a guy converting a couple of super tankers into floating cities but it was more for the rich than the poor....I think the best thing would be less people instead of making more land....If they ever came up with these things they would be full of unwanted people and floating just off California and the people on them would breed so fast that they would sink unless the USA let them in.
  7. Wonder how far you could sink a good bottle....I had misread that as 681 feet deep.....don't sound too hard....I'm not sure epoxy will protect you from pressure....but it would protest you from water...I think most of your electronics would survive that psi as they are just chunks of metals....not all...pick the right ones...electric motors will run for a while in water....won't last forever...I like the thought of sound through water...Maybe one sound wave with a carrier wave for the controls and if it losses the wave altogether it would surface....they kind of do this with remote control planes except they circle instead of surfacing....I'm not sure if you want to control this thing but I would put some kind of ballast pump in it ....not only for depth but it will help make it handle better when your not trying to sink or surface all of the time. 681 psi they have rubber brake lines that will stand 3000 psi.. shove a cheap camera in a jack bottle sink it with a hard line to a floating transmitter and have a 24 hour feed of you freak fish
  8. Sounds to me like your getting ready to lose your camera at the bottom of a lake. A tether sound like a good idea. To get a window for the camera to not leak would be the hard part. Maybe you could include an area in the bottom to collect leakage and a pump to pump it out. Do the math for me.....what is the psi at that dept....pipe is rated at psi. Its rated for explode, I would say it would take more to implode because of the arch. Even if you could keep the electronics dry and safe you may still have to cut a hole in the hull for them to work your controls and this is yet another leak. Your body has no empty space in it yet if you go to deep it will kill you. If the object is filled with fluid would the psi not just be transfered to whatever was inside the fluid. Unless all it had in it was fluid....fluid can carry energy....pump fluid down a tether line and use it for both energy and control.....but you would still need the camera...Maybe you could run fiber optics so the camera could stay topside.....but then you would not need a sub......huh.....let me think...spinning........aaahhhh
  9. Some people always think the first thing to do is buy the book....and shes right, and way over my head. As for my goals...simple...I would like to learn about lasers.....the smaller the better. Most of the project, cooling system, vacuum pump, gas flow system, are things I have from other projects and would be the same if I decide to go larger later. My main concern is the power supply. While I understand that there are many variables such as temp. or pressure that apply, I was hoping for a more rule of thumb on tube size/ power. I'm aware that a TEA design would reduce power demands but it would make the tube a lot harder to build. I have some larger power supplies but I don't have the diodes I would need to covert them to DC and was hoping not to have to build that too. I have a 5.4kV 0.22mA D.C. power supply from something else and was wondering if I could make a small enough tube and put it under enough vacuum if it would work? While the whole ideal of this is to learn, It would take me too much time too work out XITTENN's equation ...I'm not sure where to apply the variables. I'm not worried about efficiency or building the perfect model at this point. As for how much power I would like to make...is 5 watts enough to burn paper held in front of a good lens? How long do I want it to last?....well a 5 watt laser is good for nothing, so that,s not a problem. I am going with the flowing gas design but that is because I'm not sure I can seal a vacuum tube. I understand that you have to watch what you say here, but the internet and ebay has made it so that anyone could build one of these with tubes made in China, someone coming here is looking for more than just a working unit.
  10. I'm no gifted child or nothing.....with a W.VA high school education .... but I am 45 yr.s old and have been doing this kind of shit instead of watching T.V. most of my life. I forget that most of the people on here are still in high school....But even a scary smart high school kid could teach me a thing or two. I'm sure XITTENN was trying to be a wise ass, but the formula may be what I need if one of you more educated people would explain the variables.
  11. No real experience in co2 lasers.....have some experience in gases..vacuum..high voltage power supplies.....glass.....cutting diode lasers....the next step seemed to be the co2 laser......very forgiving.....and yes safety is always my first concern...before first light I will have stops and glasses in place. The whole project is for the learning experience and if I had the chance to get in a f1 car I would ask for pointers.....but if I didn't get them I would still go for the ride. If you have safety pointers it would be a good ideal to state them instead of some kind of nanny reply
  12. I'm looking to build a co2 laser....not as worried about high power as much as a working unit from easy to find parts....the hardest part to find cheap would be the power supply....I can make this a little less hard by keeping the watts down.....I was wondering if a 10 mm tube 600mm long or even shorter with a good vacuum pump would keep the power demands low and still be a laser? Is there math for this?
