  1. Suppose you set up 2 of those super-telescopes very far away from each other. You see the PeZe war happening and record it on the calendar as the PeZe war. Then a couple months later, the other telescope sees it and records it on the calendar as the PeZe war.

How does the expansion of the universe change this? Should the expansion be slower than the speed of light? If it was faster, how would that change the scenario?

  2. Interesting.

I just realized that how long you can lucid dream may depend on how long you can focus your thoughts.

I had another lucid dream. It sparked after I realized that my sister transformed into a friend of mine. I said to myself, "No, this must be a dream." I had to fight the idea that it was real. My friend tried to persuade me that the dream was real, but I resisted and went outside and flew. I could control it unlike last time. I flew past several high sky rises, saw people lounging on their balconies and on the ceiling, etc. I then thought about flying across California (big mistake once again, my last post said I tried to go to the Sun and look where that got me).

What happened next was that I tried to take a shortcut (through a library?). In other words, I semi- lost my grip on my dream and started going back into lala-land.

I regained control, but lost it not long after that.

Note to self: Don't try to fly long distances. Teleporting is much easier.

  3. Suppose people built a telescope so enormously powerful, just imagine with me, that it can actually see extrasolar planets that are in our a billion-light year radius.

Say a billion years ago, alien civilizations went to war with each other on a small planet we call PeZe.

This planet happens to be a billion-light years away. You point the telescope at it. Will you see the aliens going to war with each other?

  4. Hmm, I don't believe that you should live life to secure your place in heaven, hell, nirvana, eternal damnation, or wherever the afterlife may take you. However, I don't believe you should live life without caring how you will view yourself and your actions when you die, are dying, or have died.

In other words, I don't think our present life is unconnected to the next. When I think about what I'm going to do, I think about travelling and exploring Earth and its wonders: Grand Canyon, Pacific Ocean, rainforests, deserts, and even people. Then I'm going to fly to the stars, other planets, etc. And if I wish to, I guess I can reincarnate or something.

  5. Every time I try to go onto my email, it freezes and pops up an error. I wrote down the message.

"The intructions at "0x026137c6" referenced memory at "0x026a6ec0". The Memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program.

Something like that, I think I miswrote some stuff, but that's what it says.

Then I click OK like it tells me to and another one of those pop up. I click OK and another pops up. and another...another...

So the only way to stop it is to restart the computer or press Alt+Ctrl+Del, and even then it might freeze.

What the heck is it? How do I stop it?

  6. Yeah, I'd say that everything that's alive has a spirit. Are viruses alive? Beats me. It's not like I can see souls or anything. I don't see spirits floating around me all the time or anything like that.

"Errr... ok. Let's not get ahead of ourselves."

Oh well, this is in the pseudoscience/metaphysics category.

  7. Having a brain supplied by oxygen is a pre-requisite for being self-conscious and sentient' date=' which are the qualities that lead people to conclude we must have a soul (whatever they think that may be).

I don't think there's anyone who believes they will be sharing the afterlife with anaerobic bacteria.[/quote']

I accidentally mistyped two things at the same time.

It was supposed to say "Having a brain is not a prerequisite for life, and having blood is not a prerequisite for life."

And, yep, I do think I'll be living with the anaerobic bacteria.

If anything could travel faster than the speed of light, I hope it's through "soul traveling."

My friend sent me these. I liked rotating rings and color test the best.

  9. When I was in 6th grade, I believed in the idea that everything is trying to strive for perfection. Maybe that's the purpose of life after death, to fulfill what your want for perfection. It's similar to Buddhism.

When I asked my friend in 7th grade what she thought the purpose of life was, she replied that when she died, and looked back on her life, what would she cherish the most? She said that she should cherish it now as well.

  10. Hmm,

    I'm not Christian.

Christians are not the only people who believe in life after death.

Scientists do not all believe that "death means death."

    I believe that spirits exist.

I don't believe in heaven or hell, mainly because I don't believe anyone can be totally evil or totally good.

I some what believe in reincarnation.

I believe that spirits, like matter, have been here since the dawn of time.

Regarding blood to the brain, not all life requires this.

Regarding oxygen, not all life requires this--some require no oxygen to live.

Regarding brains, not all life have these.

  11. Yeah, tell me what you get. The rafts I made that I tried to make like the Alcatraz raft held between 20 and 30; I forget what the number was now that I've given up. The material just wasn't strong enough and I think glue changes the viscosity of the water. The raft was unbalanced causing pennies to slide and the boat to tilt over.

However, I found that the air bubbles were held pretty well in their paper capsules. But the bubbles weren't enough to lift up more than 20 something pennies.

  12. The demonstration is supposed to show that the equilibrant is equal and opposite to the resultant of 2 forces.

My teacher suggested to nail some nails equidistantly around a circle on a wooden board. Then hook 2 force gauges onto 2 nails and a key ring in the center of the circle. Then hook a 3rd force gauge onto another nail and the key ring.

Then measure angles and look at the force gauge to use a vector diagram to show that the key ring will be in equilibrium if and only if the 3rd force is equal and opposite to the sum of the first two.

Does it seem sound in theory?

  13. Ross is a store (pretty big compared to some of the ones I've been to, although I rarely go shopping for stuff). Might not be around your area.

You could also buy it online, although I wouldn't recommend it if you know what I mean.

  14. It's not for free, but the box says 30-day moneyback guarantee. I got it at Ross for $7 and some tax. Let me list the things the CD's have: pre alg, alg 1, alg 2, geom, trig, pre-calc, calc, statistics, AP calc, ap stat, infinite problem generator
