  1. My son has Autism. There is a good-sized medical community in my town including a major medical center. None of the local doctors had a clue as to what causes Autism or how to treat it. We found a doctor in Florida who is a leading Autism expert. My son has shown tremendous improvement from his treatment. It turns out that the causes of Autism are known and validated through medical research but mainstream medicine will not acknowledge this. There are many reasons among them are; medical insurance does not want to cover treatment, the government does not want to treat medical card recipients, the vaccine manufacturers do not want the liability and profitability of their activities affected. There are several other supposedly unexplained illnesses who’s causes are not acknowledged by the mainstream but can be treated by specialists if you can pay out of pocket. These include Multiple Sclerosis and Krones.

    Pets V Slaves

What is the difference between a pet and a slave?.
  4. Perhaps selective aggression would be desired by the owners. Terriers were bred to be very aggressive towards small animals but not people. Consider that different personalities prefer different kinds of dogs. Some dogs are aloof, obedient, playful, calm, protective, and energetic and there are people that prefer every kind.
  5. Claiming that torture works is highly dubious at best. You have no evidence of this other than the word of a man whos political career may well depend the public believing this. Here are some sources saying torture does not workCVT The Torture Myth Why Torture Doesn't Work I agree that context is both difficult to get from the outside and very important to understanding an issue. However there are piles of history and examples of why torture is Always a mistake and no reliable examples of when it is a good idea.
  6. To adapt to live in association with the domesticating intelligence.
  7. Aaah yes the persecution complex of Christianity. A religion that has 90% adherence feels attacked. I do not think so. How many Atheist knock on you door to discuss religion? How many Atheist affirmations are we led in before school events? What is your evidence of an Atheist mandate to convert others?
  8. Perhaps a little waterboarding by the press will get him to talk.:
  9. If a nonhuman intelligence were to domesticate people would they make good pets? It seems that less intelligent animals fish dogs and cats make much better pets than more intelligent animals like parrots and monkeys. It seems that more intelligent animals have more elaborate needs and capacity for trouble.
  10. I read an article that mentions transplant recipients in China choosing to have transplanted hands and other body parts removed because they could not accept having a dead persons parts. Could you live with someone else’s hand? How about the face transplant?
  11. "Amendment V No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."Constitution of the United States What does this mean? "except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger" I read it to mean that people in the military are not due this protection. Can anyone dispute or confirm this interpretation?
  12. I usually just get astonishment and disbelief from strangers where I live. My political Science teacher was from the South and he once suggested that atheists were considered the same as mentally retarded down South.
  13. I am not certain about that. I know doctors say that a lot but I have yet to see numbers that are significant $2 trillion annual total.
  14. That is savage. How can any person condone coercion by drowning?
  15. So you see larger size and increased agression as being the methods of dominance. I see your point. I do not think dominance was as common in primitive man as it is in other social animals. Primitive man had advanced memory and communicative skills. I think a lot of aggression amongst hyenas comes from a lack of complex communication. The more intelligent bonobos will engage in-group sexual activity, including homosexual interaction to alleviate tension of sharing food. I suspect humans always had a more cooperative interaction.
  16. Very interesting. I suggest that this does not occur in humans because give birth to proportionally larger babies and care for them longer. The wider hips, greater body fat, lower metabolic rate, larger breasts could all be attributed to this need.
  17. The hormone difference also effect this. There are different kinds of strength. The power lifter has a greater low rep strength then a strong man competitor. The boxer, football player, gymnast and wrestler all have different kinds of strength.
  18. Perhaps a speedy trial, no imprisionment without being charged, no open ended detention, inpartial representation, having access to the evidence against them. You are confusing the punishment with due process.
  19. It seems to me that the Political and Religion forums get more traffic than most science forums. The truth is that human dialogue and discourse do not fall into rigid categories. It is folly to believe religion, politics, and philosophy can be separated from discussions people care to have. It should be interesting to see the forum moderators try.
  20. This link says: There has been no job growth outside of Medical and public employment. Health care cost $2 trillion annually The federal government spends $600 million annually. The World Health Organization ranks the US 37 or 191 countries. Health care is much more expensive than in Mexico who rates ahead of the US. Why is health care in the US so expensive? Why is health care so bad?
  21. Three percent sounds a bit low. Atheist is and absolute and the slightest doubt excludes one from the classification. Many are functionally atheist in their thinking and call themselves agnostic. Furthermore there is considerable pressure to marginalize atheists and this is reflected in most studies. I believe a more accurate number would be between 10% and 15%.
  22. Your link seems to be broken. I suspect that Atheists are hated because they represent the greatest threat to the theist’s beliefs. It is easy to disagree with other religions as they all share the greatest error, the belief in god, at the core of their system. Atheist hold a position that cannot be challenged by logical reason and therefore represents the greatest schism between the intellect and emotional conditioning that is inescapable to acceptance of theology. Therefore the Atheist must be marginalized, ridiculed, isolated, ect. I have faced considerable hostility from my in-laws on this matter. Their hostility and machinations against me increased over the years to the point of having a surprise intervention at DVAC for my wife. She has broken all contact with them finally, though they still send letters and emails in spite of her requests to be left alone.
  23. Like this. Does not work the same way.
