  1. We studied epsilon-delta proofs at the end of the year last year and I was kind of wondering if they have a purpose or are they just trivial? I could find a reason for most of the stuff we learned but not this one... even my teacher didn't like it.

  2. Lol, luckily I just got finished with biology. I don't think any teacher would appreciate me arguing with them for countless hours and I don't think I could handle all the conservative hypocrites that would give me evil looks.... ah who am I kidding... I live for it.

  3. Your father is a very fortuneate individual then. There is absolutely no argument about it; mixing chlorine bleach and aqueous ammonia results in the formation of very deadly chloramine gases. A quick search on google will probably bring up numerous examples of janitors or little old ladies who mixed the two things together in order to clean a bathroom and wound up getting seriously ill and/or passing away from the gas that is formed. Here in Connecticut there was a story about this a few years ago where a janitor at a school accidentally mixed large quantities of bleach and ammonia. I can't imagine the time he spent in the emergency room was a good one. :D

That's Mustard gas right? Saddam's favorite weapon :D. I think I have heard of cats dieing because people cleaned their litter boxes with bleach then the cats pissed in them and died from the gas.

  4. It's their religion, I guess I just don't understand why they can't discriminate who gets married, if gay marriages were legalized it wouldn't be like they don't have an alternative to marry. They gay couples would still have an equal opportunity to get married just not with the tag of a Catholic marriage.

  5. Edit: yeah, what cessna7686 is saying ^ (maybe that's what allows them to be selective... not neccesarily what I said... I was just trying to explain the reasons why I thought they allowed it).

You think that it's only discrimination if money is involved?

Litigation really has destroyed your society :-(

Not completely, it isn't public either. Plus it is a religion and the government can't force them to change their religion to allow other people to join. I don't think the KKK has to allow black people or other minorities into their group. Same with the private schools. I think gay marriage under a priest would fall under the same category these things do (whatever the specifics are... I just gave pay and it being private as an example).

  6. I thought about doing it but decided I didn't have enough time and was too lazy :(. If you have a good idea go for it. I'm sure colleges wouldn't frown upon it. Have you done a regular science fair?

  7. I think each line represents a certain percentile (look at the 50 percentile to find average). I think growth occurs only rarely in ones 20's and the height difference is probably just due to the average height of people that age being a little taller. I haven't really studied the graph so I am just assuming these things but they make sense.

  8. Yeah, I'm taking this thing called PSEO where you can attend any public school in the state for free. You can only take so many classes and you still have to meet all the high school requirements so there isn't much room for error. Thanks though :) I'll look into that.

  9. I just finished BC calc and I want know what would be the next math to take. If it helps I want to go into Physics. I gotta say I am pretty ignorant about higher level maths and there are so many to choose from. I was wondering what classes you guys would suggest. Thanks beforehand.

  10. If your first derivative is negative then your equation's slope is negative; if your second derivative is negative then your equation is concave down and vice-versa. Do you know what a sign chart is? This will give you a good representation of how your equation will look when graphed. For all intents and purposes the critical points on the 1st derivative will mean the graph has a slope of zero or a vertical slope. For the 2nd derivative the critical point will mean it has inflection or nothing at all (has to change sign in order for it to be inflection).

  11. A 3 :(. But, I am horrible at biology and never had an introductory biology course and the whole course was done in half a year and any other excuse you can think of put here.

I got a 5 on the BC calc test though!

  12. Evolution (not on a creation scale) is as much as a fact that we need oxygen to survive. It can't possibly be tested for every single living thing but it can be observed that things will evolve (not adapt but actually change) over time. This is evolution and it can't be denied. However, that does not necessarily mean that evolution had to be the means of creation (somewhat defending the creationist's ideas).
