  1. This is cool. I thought of YT when I saw it. :) From the middle on it gets better.

I am at work and don't have internet at home. I would like to see this video, but the site is blocked by our firewall. Is there anywhere else I can see the video of this on another site?

    nevermind, I found one! http://www.makezine.com/blog/archive/2006/08/how_to_make_a_time_fountain.html?CMP=OTC-0D6B48984890

  2. is he talking about where the original image is recorded as greyscale and later the "proper" color is applied? I thought the rovers worked that way.

Yes, Pretty much, that is what I mean. I would consider greyscale to false color, but they refer to the "proper" color as the "False Color".

I guess its like, Why do we park in a driveway and drive on a parkway?:)

  3. Wow, that is the thread I was talking about, but now, I can't even find where it was stated! I might be going nuts! Thank you for you original definition though. It does give me enough to understand.

  4. Okay, maybe I'll simplify what is confusing me. In an unrelated post someone has a black and white picture of a dead dog. Then they have another picture of it in Color, But they refer to it as a "False Color" picture. Is it that this person shouldn't have used that as a description or what?

  5. By definition. In science, there is no higher step to attain than to be considered a theory. I think you and mustang are trying to read more into the statement than is there.

For you to try and read only a theory and nothing more is pathetic. In science we seek the unbarable truth. Theory does not equal Truth. Therefore, you and your dad on a pogo stick are willing to accept what you learn in a dictionary to be your reality. PATHETIC.

  6. According to Stephen Hawking in A Brief History of Time' date=' "a theory is a good theory if it satisfies two requirements: It must accurately describe a large class of observations on the basis of a model that contains only a few arbitrary elements, and it must make definite predictions about the results of future observations." He goes on to state..."Any physical theory is always provisional, in the sense that it is only a hypothesis; you can never prove it. No matter how many times the results of experiments agree with some theory, you can never be sure that the next time the result will not contradict the theory. On the other hand, you can disprove a theory by finding even a single observation that disagrees with the predictions of the theory."[/i']

And your point? Provisional, yes, but confirmed and supported by a huge amount of evidence. "Just a theory" implies that there is something more to be had, and there isn't.

I guess my point is that if we all gave up the way you seem to, we would have never passed the speed of sound because it had been theorized that we couldn't, even after "a huge amount of evidence." To accept that since we have been unable to achieve the speed of light and all tests and evidence so far have failed does not mean that in the future someone may not finally achieve what you are so readily to accept as impossible.

We are still in the infancy of knowledge itself. Thousands of years from now our ancestors will look back in history and consider us virtually no more knowledgeable than a caveman.

It was once theorized that we could not go faster than the speed of sound. "Best tested theories ever" my a@# !

In science, it doesn't get any better than being a theory.

2 months ago I was the subject of a Complete Phsycological Evaluation. They stated in the report that they found me to be of High Intelligence. They didn't give me an IQ score however.

They did however say that my main problem is explaining my point of view clearly enough for others to comprehend.

So here is a Quote from Stephen Hawking. Maybe it will help explain the what I am trying to tell you:

  9. i was on the back seat of a bike when my friend was in the driver's seat . i just thought in my mind that " why not go for a movie" . before i could say anything my friend asked to me " would u like to go for a movie" . in this case our heads were very close (5-10 cm) . he's my classmate , we r not related . it happens with twins . but i and my friend are two different personalities.if the neuronal architecture in the brain of twins have similarity then telepathy can b understood . what about me and my friend.

is it radio waves . ,if it is then what's the strength, what's the wavelength.

In the case with my friend and I, it has also always happened only when we are within a foot or two of each other. Most of the times however, I think of something and he responds with an answer as if I thought it out loud. Almost everytime there have been plenty of people around us to confirm that I never said anything out loud. One example: We were sitting next to each other and a girl walked by. I said to myself in my head "she's ugly". Immediately my friend looked at me and said "No she's Not!" A couple of friends around us asked why he just blurted that out. He said because I said she was ugly. I told him I had only thought that to myself and never said it out loud. Everyone around us also confirmed that I never said anything.

That is just one of many examples. We both now truly believe there is some type of telepathy, we just don't know how to control it.

  10. I believe it will be acquired more thoroughly through evolution. All of my experiences have been completely without expecting it to happen. Anytime we have tried to 'Practice' it, nothing happens.

  11. no it is impossible to reach light speed relative to any observer, its not just an illusion you can't do it

Remember it is still only a theory. One that hopefully will be proven wrong. Otherwise the human race will never be able to continue. Our sun will overtake earth at some point. If we can't find a way to travel faster than light, then the human race will be doomed.

  12. I'm probably wrong with the science terms here, but I believe it is the Neurons? that everyone's brain sends out that can be interpreted by someone else. It was on some special tv program I watched once.

A life long friend of mine and I have both been experiencing telepathy for years now. I do believe telepathy is real.
