There were some experiments in the fifties or sixties in which sensory depravation was used to cause hallucinations. I remember seeing a documentary in which that was mentioned.

I attempt to look out for the earth as a whole, although I don't devote much time to it because no one is interested in the subject. Most people prefer to look at only a small part of the earth situation. For example, the diagrams produced by the global warming crowd totally ignore the huge amounts of solar energy used in the biosphere. All the energy we use to move our bodies by walking and picking things up comes from the sun. Plants convert solar radiation into the electron bonds that hold complex carbon molecules together. Humans and other animals can use this energy. The sun is also the original source of the substantial amount of energy that evporates water from the oceans and moves it thousands of miles inland.

Keep in mind that increasing the area covered by liquid water will increase evaporization of the water. Although ice can subllime and go from a frozen state to a gas, the rate of vaporization is slower than for liquid water.

The one about the plane reminds me of a old 3 Stooges comedy routine about the math problem of one train going east at 50 mph to a town 200 miles away and another going coming from the town at 60 mph. Where will they meet? Curly's answer "east is east and west is west and never the trains shall meet." Inertia explains why the cannonball goes straight up and comes straight down. An object in motion will remain in motion unless acted upon by some force. Its horizontal motion relative to the earth must remain the same as it goes up and comes down unless it is acted upon by a force to change the velocity.

You might try to find information on a theory that entangled particles are connected through some other physical dimension of reality. I don't know if there is a formal theory or not but I have seen this suggestion made before. Such a connection might be analogous to the theoretical "short cut" through space called a "worm hole". Our ability to understand the issue of other dimensions is hampered by our early indoctrination to the view that the dimensions of physical reality are length, width and height. Those of us who are lucky eventually are introduced to the idea of time as a dimension of reality. Quantum physics has the concept of parallel universes which might be the equivalent of boxes within a box.involving a larger dimension. Science fiction stories sometimes deal with the possibility of moving from one "box" to another. It would be conceivable that someone could develop a theory showing how particles that are distant in our 3-dimensional world could be connected in some other type of dimensional configuration. I don't know what the physical characteristics of such dimensions would be but it would be plausible mathematically.
