  1. My question goes deeper than that. Ned Wright doesn't explain how the negative pressure of vacuum is able to grip matter and push it away from us, (gravity), faster than the speed of light. Space has no friction. Where does this force of negative pressure act on matter ?
  2. OK, I will wait and see what happens... BTW Just want to clarify that I wish to understand the calculation also not just having a formula.
  3. If You bounce a ball against a wall it won't return with higher KE. The spaceship gets an increase of KE when moving towards the planet but then loses the same amount when moving away, relative the planet. It is only in a third frame the slingshot effect can be measured and You can have an increase or decrease of KE, stolen from or given to the planet, relative the third observers view. This means there has to be another person on a third object, either a second spaceship or a second planet to measure the slingshot, relative him/her, or a third object in space, the person in the spaceship or on the planet can use to measure the slingshot with, relative it.
  4. Sounds to hard for my low level of math, maybe I should just give it up ? I thought it could be viewed in a simple way, like to racing cars which starts at different positions with different speeds, the slower one with the head start also accelerates. Time taken for the faster car to reach the slower one with head start. The distant star is viewed as in rest, Earth is the slower car that accelerates with a head start and light is the faster car with constant speed. Time taken for light to reach Earth.
  5. I have not had the time to read through this yet, but if I find something interesting I will "flag" it for You. Anyway the reason for "copy & paste" not working is that the text is saved as/in image-format, thus "copy & paste" to paint or photoshop works well. I don't know if that info will do You any good but You should be able to paste a picture of the quote You want to show.
  6. Please, read my post #9 again.
  7. OK Have done that ! Actually we posted at the same time so I didn't read Your post until after mine was posted and then I just figured I still could use "rotate around the Sun" anyway - bad decision, huh...
  8. I hope You have read swansont's note about "revolve" is a better word than "rotate". If You have only Two objects then there is no slingshot effect, the objects will move apart with the same speed they moved against relative eatch other. The slingshot effect is gained from a third frame, in empty space with just Two objects it can't be measured. The example I gave with the car and the ball shows this, the ball moves against the car with the same speed it moves apart from the car, after the hit, relative the car. But relative You, the thrower and the third frame, the ball returns with throwing speed plus car speed. Thus there is no trade of gravitational potential energy between these Two objects either, without the third frame.
  9. I don't now exactly what You mean here ? But as in Ophiolite's example: Jupiter revolves very slightly more slowly around the Sun and as a consequence of that it will be pulled a little, tiny, puny bit closer to the Sun, thus loosing gravitational potential energy relative the Sun, and the spaceshuttle can use the new speed to gain it.
  10. There exists adult females that take advantages of younger boys also... As I said in my post there exists a grey zone where it can be hard to draw the right conclusions. A married adult man having affairs with several, much younger girls he is supposed to coach, is indeed doing very wrong, no question about that. They problably feel ashame and take the blame on themself without cause and don't want it to become public. That is a problem because the bad guys count on this cind of protection which allows them to contiune with other victims in the future.
  11. From the momentum of the object causing the slingshot. If You throw a ball against a car moving towards You the ball returns with it's own speed + the cars speed and the car slows down a little when hit by the ball.
  12. It's a BIG difference between someone at the age of 19 for having sex with someone with the age of 17 and someone with the age of 50 having sex with someone with the age of 5. When going to the extreme limits it's easy to say which is a pedophile and which is not, but in the grey zone in between, it can sometimes be very hard. The law draws a razor sharp limit in the age of the younger one, but doesn't take in account the age of the older, but humans do.
  13. There will be limitations in the access time ! If one device is "single" on the port then the port uses the maximum transfer speed for that device, if there are Two devices then the transfer speed must be ruled by the slowest device. (If the slow unit goes to stanby, due to not accessed in a long time, the speed will go up on the fast one.) Also when the CPU access both devices at the same time they have to share the only cable and take turns in communicating with the motherbord, thus upload time for a file will double for eatch unit in this case. With the speed of the modern computers and devices nowdays a don't know if You would notice the difference.
  14. Almost al CD's have copy protection, which means that even if You make copies of all the files on the CD to the HD, the game will still ask You to put in the CD before it starts. The only benefit in this case is that files is loaded faster from the HD but most games that requires this already offer that during the installation. There is a bunch of different copy protections but I think most of them hides information someplace on the CD that normally is not in use and OS like WIN can't find without special software, like in the start of a game. It can still be done if You are able to find a "cracked" file for the game You want on the web, but with most of them also comes viruses.
  15. Yes it is possible by only changing the cable. I have 3 HDs and 1 CD connected to my motherboard with 2 IDE slots. The IDE port should normally support 2 devices, one Master and one Slave. Thus 2 ports allows for 4 devices, slot 1: Master and Slave and slot 2: Master and slave. Only thing needed is a cable that splits two ways thus having three contacts. Also somewhere on the back of the devices near the contact are a set of dip-switches which must be changed to make one of the devices slave. Normally dipped Master from factory. Different setup of the dips on different devices but usually there is a description on which dip is which, also somewhere back, on the device. Note: Some devices don't work with eatch other and depending on motherboard and OS there might also be problems. I had to try several combinations before I even got the hardware to recognize all my devices and then go through a lot of Windows issues.
  16. My question still stands: How can the expansion defeat the gravity in the gray area ? I know that if strong enough it of course can and that the force of gravity from very distant galaxies is very very small, but still to defeat that the force must have a "grip". Any force must have a direction, strengh, source and a point where it acts.
  17. I did read them all anyway, interesting, but due to my level of knowledge and partly language translations, I must confess than it was a lot I couldn't understand. But the main focus of the articles seemed to be on supporting the current measurements of the expansion, Big Bang theory and Inflation theory. I couln't find any facts about how the expansion takes place, just that it does and how it appears to us. BTW One of the links seems to go to an exact replica of one of the others.
  18. Is this the one You are searching ? "r = 2 * C * m / c^2"When inserting Earth mass the radius is only 9 millimeter. It would still have the same gravitational pull as Earth, if brought to the surface it would displace Earth in its orbit around the Sun, create a gravity wave which would cause several large earthquakes, togheter with Earths gravity maybe pull the moon down, make buildings in the area to collapse, dig a big hole through the crust with magma flowing out, very fast reach the center of earth and then pass it like "the jumper in the hole through Earth question" and problably reach surface someplace on the other side, wreak havoc there and then turn around to go through the Earth again and again and again, all the way creating large earthquakes and chewing faster and faster as it grows, until Earth is gone. I hardly belive it will take thousands of years. Of course the BH is sloppy eaters so big parts of the Earth may be ripped off and tossed away in space in all directions but I don't expect anyone to survive on one of them.
  19. I don't think they are putting us at additional risk and I understand that that was the point of Your post.I just wondered if it is commonly belived that particles can create black holes in the atmosphere or not ? (And if already has been proven to or not ?)
