  1.

    Absolutely wrong for two reasons.
First, the majority of people who claim allegiance to these Koch-heads don't know what their agenda really represents. They think the Kochs want to lower their taxes or give them liberty or actually represent their will, but that's not going to happen unless they're rich already. Anyone who is below the upper crust is going to be forced to bear more of the revenue burden, just like under W.
Second, look at the numbers. People as a whole may be dumb, but individuals, when polled, are telling us they realize the Teabags aren't representative of their will. Support for them is at a record low as the People see beneath the sheep's clothing to the wolf beneath. Strong opposition now exceeds strong support. "The populace" is realizing that TP promises are only good for wiping their asses.

That was then, this is now Phi. As you know, as should anyone else. Polls change daily! That was also pre- Obamacare(September 26th).. Sorry man, not going to work. If the poll was taken today I promise it would be much different!

  2. There is no Tea Party ticket, in your State or any other I know of.

In my State it is also common for politicians to switch Parties, or join a different Party than the one they favored in their youth - in this case you seem to be talking about a couple of former Democrats now running as Republicans? One of them, anyway:

If you are talking about Matt Bevin: he's a hedge fund prettyboy, classic Ayn Rand moneybimbo (like Rand Paul, Paul Ryan, you know the type) who's running in the Republican primary against McConnell.

If he wins, he will be the endorsed Republican Party candidate for Senator, running mostly against the endorsed Democratic Party candidate.

If there were a Tea Party and it endorsed a candidate in Kentucky an endorsed Republican like Bevin would normally be running against them in the general election.

It's a little harder to do that now, with all this video and stuff - it's harder to just shuck your past. Michelle Bachmann fawning all over W like he was her dream date come true is going to be on YouTube forever, along with the rest of the Randbrained juvenilia overlying vicious racism we've been suffering through from that crowd.

It might work in the primaries, but not everyone is as amnesiac as your typical Republican primary voter.

    Gee, Overdose..

Talk about not knowing your politics!

First, this link is just for you. http://www.kentucky.com/2013/07/24/2729582/bevin-officially-launches-run.html

Numerous articles about Matt Bevin and the Tea Party endorsement.

Here is one that you should like. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/07/23/1225890/-Mitch-McConnell-primary-challenger-Matt-Bevin-makes-it-official#

You should quit trying to appease the lefts media and rhetoric. Think for yourself! Tea Party is very active and strong in this state. And the mid elect cycle is barely started!

  3. Doesn't matter - it's just a name.

Repeat after me: There is no such Party as the Tea Party.

We are talking about standard issue Republican politicians, the current dominant faction of the Republican Party, the current heirs of the Confederacy, the latest incarnation of age-old American fascism. Lately they've been dressing up in three-corner hats and exhibiting confusion about the American Revolution, partly replacing the waving of the Stars and Bars and the denying of bad motives behind the Civil War, but they are the same political faction they've been since Jackson reneged on his promises of honest dealings with the Cherokee Nation.

They rename themselves every few years, because whatever name they've been speaking and acting under starts to be associated with what they've said and done. They may have a new name as soon as the next election cycle, or they may not - I'd look for Paul Ryan to be the weathervane there: what's he calling himself these days?

Overtone. while I may agree with you on somethings. This is not one of them. While the Tea Party may have its origins with the Republican Party. It is a different beast now. In fact there are two ex-Democrats in our state who are running under the Tea Party ticket. One of them is against both Grimes(D) and Mitch Mc Connell®. His name is Mark Bevin. He is also gaining some serious traction!

If the Tea Party changes its name, that is great! The party will represent the majority of the populace. Both establishment republican and democrat antics wont work. Obamacare is the pinnacle that changes everything. The last straw!

Now as the last of the U.S world's dominance falls away(Petrol dollar, Saudia Arabia, Oman, Bahrain ect, the E.U). This party will be more than needed. As both parties in this country fail foreign and domestic and can now be replaced by a new party. Those still living on a original party dream is surely out of touch. And of course that is with both Republican and Democrat!

  4. It can be said that in 2010 the Tea Party took the mid-elections. The question one asks is what role will they play in our next mid elect. To the dismay of our progressive and liberal friends at this site. I see a surge coming this next year. In fact I see a very big increase in tea party politicians. While it may not be prevalent within the Washington/Beltway view. Local and state politicians will increase significantly. This will happen even in states which you would not think it would occur. States like California, New York, Illinois.

With a country that has many undecided points for our future. It is not a coincidence that we have fear of both the right and the left in politics. As well as the unsettled view among most of the U.S public. As our country gasps for economic stability, growth, and a future. The opportunity is right for the Tea Party to expand greatly.

The sad part is both sides of our government are playing right into the tea parties hand. Giving them more opportunity, more hatred of our government by the populace. Regardless if the policies put forth are for our governments survival. As they surely do not represent the people in this country. The plan of top down, bottom up falls into the Tea Parties vision. It gives a opening of which cannot be sealed. I am sure those who are in the tea party are grateful for such a plan brought to you by the progressives of this country.

In the coming months as our government tightens down. Even to the point of martial law. It will only help the tea party rather than destroy it. Many on the far left and far right talked of revolution. It is coming! Just not the way either side had hoped for.

As for me. I will watch from the sidelines. As I do not really support any of the factions in government. On a side note, I do live in one of the two states which are Tea Party strongholds. I also look out for my family first. So regardless of who the top dog is in office I will do what it takes to help my family.

    Now some questions!

Do you believe the Tea Party can be stopped?

    What would be the cost?

With Obamacare, do you believe it can be fixed by Jan 1st?( I view Obamacare as the pinnacle point for driving the public to the Tea Party.)

What would you do if the Tea Party dominates our government after this next mid-elect?

  5.

Tea Party Utopia. Or more informatively, the US circa 1861, Spain circa 1936, Colombia circa 1964, Chile circa 1973, Afghanistan circa 1978, USSR circa 1990, Somalia circa 1991, - - - -

Forgot, Germany 1933 tongue.png Reichstag! Wonder if Obama could follow Hindenburgs footsteps.

    Also, a socialist's wet dream! http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/nsa-collects-millions-of-e-mail-address-books-globally/2013/10/14/8e58b5be-34f9-11e3-80c6-7e6dd8d22d8f_print.html

    Talking about a police state!

  6.

I understand your argument, but do you really think Sen. Cruz could get enough support to turn the Tea Party into a single-party totalitarian state? Overthrowing democratic procedure is a good, fascist start, but will that be enough?

De-legitimize the government, make it of no value and what do you have? With most of the populace already resenting or not trusting the government(As well as most of the world). How much nudging do you think it would take? Just one event could topple our government currently. In or out! How many new allies would a new party get?

It is almost as if our administration wants this. But of course for a different purpose. Why so many NSA, TSA, Homeland Security? Not saying that it is only this administration. I believe that plan has been in effect for a very long time. If it does happen. I believe it will be quite a different outcome than the one our government has planned.

Glad I am somewhat a prepper. My conservative nature! Dont worry have quite a bit of liberal too tongue.png Ohh!, and to let you know, democrats, liberals, republicans, conservatives, are just tools.

Something to think about. Why for the past decade or so education teaches femininity in males? Making them more docile. No offense intended to those who are young. While under the guise of a liberal agenda?

Have a populace that is both lethargic and docile. Weak, and non-resistant? What would be the purpose?

Have a police force that is brutal and feels superior to every other civilian? They feel they have the right to carry a gun, but a civilian does not? Just saying...

Why would the government want a weak, unarmed, docile population? So you know, I am not looking at this in a short time frame. As many of the social and psychological programming has taken in some cases decades.

From GI-Joe and Barbie to Captain Planet and how to save the world while playing with a twirly stick. Coincidence? All under the guise of liberalism? Heh, slick that is!

That above just one part of a many faceted plan set in motion! All coming together smile.png

  7. .

Deficits don't get paid off. Debts do. Your inability to tell the difference calls into question your other suggestions and also the wisdom of your advocacy for bank runs.

First Inow, I do not like tools. Especially ones who are programmed! Shows exactly how really high someones I.Q really is!

Lets first look up deficit. Here is the definition just for you. Deficit: The amount by which a sum of money falls short of the required or expected amount; a shortage.

The difference between the shortfall and the actual amount is turned to debt. As our government does one of two things to counter it. 1. Has the fed create more money to pay the debt with interest! Or 2. sells bonds to another party with interest. Both incur more debt. Which is cyclic and brings about a bigger deficit. Then is repeated.

If you cannot understand this concept, then perhaps you should study Keynesian economics. But to help you out, make sure you read this link:http://www.usdebtclock.org/ That is actual debt!

As to your opinion, it is just that, believe it or not! In either case you get the real repercussion's very soon. Why I dont follow blind men! They tend to have serious shortcomings!

  8. jduff,

I think the best option we have, is to stay together. Whatever comes. That is why we are called the United States.

I think it not wise to think you can protect your farm against the world.

When I was young I used to imagine having a tank, safe from most any attackers that would protect me from the Soviets and any other attacker. I felt this would give me independence and safety. I finally figured out, that even the tank could be defeated, in any number of ways, and dropped the image.

The best way to go, was to rely on the public bomb shelters being built, and the stores of canned and packaged food being amassed, and to hope that our collective anti missle system would work and stop the threats.

I learned that the U.S. is full of people already working to make everybody safe, keep everybody free from tyranny, and generally help each other maintain a structure and environment where we could make things as good as we together, could make things good.

Any one of us is 100 times, a thousand times, a million times, better off, than we would be without the rest of the U.S. and the world around us.

Prior comeing back to the thread this evening, and hearing your plan, I was thinking about iNows question to me, as to what would I rather was done by the Fed, than what they are planning to do, on a data dependent basis. I didn't have an answer, and I was starting to see his point, and now after hearing your plan, I think I completely see his point. We already have the Fed, doing our bidding. They are the BEST there is, to run the Federal Reserve Bank, and monetary policy. And that is the job we have given them. They already are considering all the concerns I have raised and all the democrats have raised, and all the republicans have raised and all the questions raised by their counterparts, around the world. Our banks needed time to recapitalize. Privite citizens needed time to recapitalize. Cut down on debt and increase their savings, AND we needed fiscal stimulus, AND we needed lower than low interest rates to keep the place from locking up in fear.

As has already been pointed out to you, your fear, and my fear, is not helpful. What is required is our confidence and our efforts to build the best and sell it to the world and each other, and buy the best, from everybody else that makes it for us.

Not to try and sabatoge the system we have together built and maintained, but to trust each other, to do our jobs and make it work as best we can make it work, for our own good, and for the good of everyone else reliant on it working.

Still leaves room for improvement, and comprimise, breaking down barriers that cause inequities, and tightening up areas of the system that are being abused. or that have grown too big for their britches. To elimnate prograns that have outlived their usefullness or have morphed undesireably from their orignal purpose.

But the MOST important thing, is to do it together. We cannot do it without the farmer, or the banker, or the doctor or the lawyer, or the teacher, or the builder, or the saleman or the researcher or the technician or the specialist, or the performer.

Its all of us together that make it work.

What we need therefore, is not fear, not blame, not jealousy and disrespect...but trust. Trust in the capable to continue doing their part, and for everyone to be applying their best efforts and best ideas, with the goal of making society work, for everybody involved.

Otherwise, out there on the farm, you will have no weather report and won't know when to plant and harvest, cover and protect. You will have no seed, no gas, no fertilixer, no parts for the tractor, no nails to put the shutters back on, when they blow off. You will live in constant fear, because you will not know what is over the next rise, and wouldn't have a cavalry to come to your rescue or a doctor to go to if a weird green fog rolled over the hill. Or a hoard of slightly better armed folks came your way, to take what was yours. No police to call, remember, you divorce us all, when you take the independence course.

    Regards, TAR2

And you would have no one to complain to or talk to, or question and learn from on scienceforums.net.

I enjoyed your post TAR. You are right! The 99% of us should stick together. My hope is to restart our government and get rid of the fed. What is needed is to get rid of those who control the fed. The system is designed to not make that happen. Morality only exists if it helps keep the feds system in motion. In our current day, just here in the U.S. What do you think the hot issues are really about? Global Warming? Obama care? Everything you think is a issue is most likely used to keep the system going. While at the same time depriving us of humanity. Making us more and more enslaved. What do you really think the Patriot Act is about? Homeland Security? TSA, NSA? To protect us from terrorism? It is to insure that we remain slaves. Heard talks about martial law lately? I am sure you have. What do you think that is really about?

I am not saying these things to make you afraid. I am saying these things so you can go past the fear and replace it with what is truly needed. We have 2 years at tops! Most likely sooner than later! Each of our presidents including this one are just puppets to the system.

  9. The point is that when you withdraw your money like that you are a direct part of the exact problem you're seeking to avoid. Everyone drawing their money from the market and from banks all at once is exactly what causes the crash. If people kept a level head and stayed put we'd be in significantly safer shape.

I think the part you may not be getting is it is unavoidable. Leaving it in the bank you lose all of it. Taking it out for hard currency you retain a little value. Barter ect.. Just think! We had three presidents assassinated over interest free currency. William McKinley http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_McKinley , James Garfield http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_A._Garfield and John . F. Kennedy http://whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/JFKvFedR.html and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_F._Kennedy . If you notice with John Kennedy, Wiki did not mention the monetary affair with him smile.png . Also attempts on Andrew Jackson http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Jackson .

The reality that I think many do not understand. Is as long as the U.S dollar(Petro-dollar) exists in its current form. You as well as the government will not escape debt or a deficit. Even if our deficit were to be paid off to the penny(which it cant) we would still owe just from interest alone! At this point, there will never be a zero sum nor a surplus. Our deficit is now exponentially intertwined with our government. As is most of the worlds economy. Austerity was meant to slow it down. But now not even that will work.

Bankruptcy, Recession, and Depression are ingrained in our monetary system. This is to insure the system can keep going and the very few select bankers that are part of the fed will continue to make profit. This of course all at the cost of us. You life, your imagined wealth, your imagined prosperity. If you are not the 1% at the top. You are in the same boat as the rest of us. That 1%(Democrats used that slogan 99%-1%) does not care about you or your family or what you do. As long as it does not interfere with the system. The trick for them to us. Is to get us to believe that Keynesian economics works. It works for them. For the rest of us, we are just slaves to that system.

Just a note! Every policy bill or law that exists is to keep that system going. It does not matter what type of government system is in place. Communism, Socialism, Dictatorship, Monarchy, Democracy, Republic, Commonwealth. As long as the system flows everything else is just a tool!

Like I said in a earlier post. It is not about party, its much bigger than that. You have limited time to prepare. I would use it wisely.

  10. You don't seem to fully understand the measure of what you are saying. Yes of course you will withdaw your savings. You and another hundred million citizens. Do the banks have the money? the answer is NO. So what will happen is that the banks will close their doors. We have seen that before.

If you are lucky enough to get your money back, beware the thiefs that will go from house to house knowing that everybody has a fortune under his blanket. And that's the good part of the picture...

Well, I do have a family, I live in a rural area. and each one of us including my grandchildren are proficient with a firearm. I will take my chances. Our neighbors are doing the same if a default goes through. There is a reason I moved from the bay area(Silicon Valley) to the middle of this country in a rural area. Planning is important. You see to plan with law is subject to disaster. Planning with the precept of chaos(lawlessness) is the only way.

Also am glad I can hunt and fish. As well as grow a garden!

I will pray for those in non rural areas. That actually think they have a grasp on his or her life. I wish them the best! But when it comes to the survival of family or me. They come first!

I feel bad for those who are in big cities. The survival rate for them is low considering the circumstances if a default occurs.

I miss being able to surf, going to debates, the mountains, but I would not trade this place or environment for anything. Will defend this home with my life :)

    Can you say the same?

  11. If the 16th gets here with no plan in place. I will be withdrawing almost every dollar that is in both my savings and checking account. As well as selling off what stock I do have. Call me a prepper or whatever. I dont care. Will go into survival mode if the U.S defaults. Will avoid banking and banks as necessary. For those wanting to know the truth. Our government is insolvent concerning our debt and deficit. Austerity only trickles it along. Its about over and if I were you. I would prepare! Banks have threatened to shutdown if the U.S goes into default. So only hard currency will be available.

This is not just a U.S only event.

Now if they do come up with a plan and avoid a default. All the above will be on hold. Discussions of blame, arguments of who to hold responsible, what to do, are at a point of no return. As far as the government and our administrations view. With socialist policy. Money only lasts til the other peoples money runs out. The biggest fault with socialism. We are at that point! Greece, Canada are the next two to fall then us. All coming sooner if the default happens.

Cannot actually believe some still propagate a solution. When all you are doing is placing a bandaid on a huge gash that is bleeding one out! It ends, no more free bus ride.

    Time to start over.

  12. ??? Regardless how, Bush had a surplus - did he pay down the debt that a few morons now want to destroy the economy over? No. Can't spin that.

I don't want the government to go anywhere near default. I don't want it to shutdown either. I don't want any President to be held hostage by Congress, even during the Iraq crap, I wouldn't want that. If Bush had decided to invade England, then maybe shutdown and default would be in order. Maybe smile.png

Well John he did squander it away with a war followed by another, in part due to 9/11(Regardless if it was our govs doing or actually legit). As well as making sure the petrodollar stayed the dominant currency worldwide. Iraq in 2000 wanted to use the euro instead of the dollar. Shortly after the U.S invaded Iraq under the guise of WMD's. Cant let the Fed have a weakened currency. As well as the IMF change its primary currency. Now we have a social security benefit that is unfunded. As to the debt. I added this link http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/oct/9/obamas-national-debt-rate-on-track-to-double/ to the above post. Hope you read it!

Also to note. There is a war, and the parties democrat and republican are just tools to a much bigger outcome. By the way, the divisive nature that is among the U.S has not been as bad as it is now since the civil war. That should give you something to seriously think about!

The blame game is just that. There is only two outcomes. We get one or the other. And each are just as bad as the other. No escaping and no blame. We have at most 2 years.

Be sure to thank Woodrow Wilson! As if it was not for him. None of this would even be talked about!

  13. We have been living beyond our means, but guess who has the means to pay it back? Yes, the wealthy. Getting towards a balanced budget is one thing, but the long term debt started with Reagan and accelerated by Bush needs to be payed back as well. When Bush gave the surplus back(crumbs to most, shitloads to wealthy) should have gone towards paying the debt down.

Wish you guys would quit playing the game. Bush only had a surplus because Clinton stripped Social Security while he was in office. Man you ideologues are atrocious. I am glad I am not part of this circle jerk party. And as usual, if the gov hits default. The poor and elderly will suffer.

    Love watching a follower!

In the democrat party there are only two types of democrats. Those who are arrogant, claim they are super intelligent(At least they think they are). Think they know whats best for everyone. Then you have the low information poor. Who follow them to no ends. The controllers(1-3%of democrats) then the 97% who are the low information poor(slaves).

Do not like being called out for what you are? Then quit trying to play rhetorical bullshit. But alas, you cant! That self-serviant narcissistic view wont let you!

Also, today's headlines! Obama's national debt rate to double http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/oct/9/obamas-national-debt-rate-on-track-to-double/

What has taken four presidents to do over multiple terms since the 80ies. Obama is doing just in his presidency! And we wonder why Obama's approval rating is just 1 point away from Bush's all time low!

  14. heh, from Moodys! Imagine that! A excerpt!

Moody’s says in the memo dated Oct. 7.

” We believe the government would continue to pay interest and principal on its debt even in the event that the debt limit is not raised, leaving its creditworthiness intact,” the memo says. “The debt limit restricts government expenditures to the amount of its incoming revenues; it does not prohibit the government from servicing its debt. There is no direct connection between the debt limit (actually the exhaustion of the Treasury’s extraordinary measures to raise funds) and a default.

You can find the full story here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics-live/liveblog/live-updates-the-shutdown-4/?hpid=z2#c1e3ada3-dc00-41d8-92cb-327c5c814d82

Guess the scare tactics can stop now!

  15. LOL,

Cannot believe you actually think our debt is party related. Cracks me up! You need to do a little research. Here are some things to look up. Petrodollar, BRICs, then you may get a better response than the bullshit party line argument.

Now as to Obamacare. A fresh story found on facebook just for those AHCA supporters. Enjoy!

My name is Ashley Dionne and I’m a 26-year-old recent graduate from Michigan.

The phony Obamacare signup poster boy made me want to send a message about how Obamacare is really affecting people.

I graduated from The University of Michigan in 2009. In my state, this used to mean something, but even with a bachelor’s I was told I was too educated and wouldn’t stay. I watched as kids with GEDs and high school diploma’s took the low-paying jobs for which I applied.

I went back to school and got a second degree and finally found work at a gym. I work nights and only get 32 hours a week for eight dollars an hour. I’m unable to find a second job at this time.

I have asthma, ulcers, and mild cerebral palsy. Obamacare takes my monthly rate from $75 a month for full coverage on my “Young Adult Plan,” to $319 a month. After $6,000 in deductibles, of course.

Liberals claimed this law would help the poor. I am the poor, the working poor, and I can’t afford to support myself, let alone older generations and people not willing to work at all.

This law has raped my future.

It will keep me and kids my age from having a future at all.

This is the real face of Obamacare and it isn’t pretty.

    Ref:https://www.facebook.com/DennisPrager/posts/10151880807716998

Pretty sad! Have youngsters at my work who are in the same boat.

My story, I am diabetic, had insurance til this month. Everything was going fine, til our insurance company (United Health) told us we cannot re-up our insurance til Jan 1st due to Obama Care. I am without insurance til January. My premiums are expected to go up 200%. So from 67 dollars bi-weekly to 140 dollars bi-weekly.

As to why Obama wont negotiate with Republicans. He is waiting for so many people to sign up on Obama Care that it would be impossible to defund or get rid of it. The whole reason why Obama wont negotiate!

Obama makes Carter look like a saint!

Dont worry! Democrats will pay at the mid elect! If we do not go broke first!

  16. Obama just hit a new low in my book concerning the shutdown. Total retardation with this administration. Look for yourself, Amber Alert website:http://www.amberalert.gov

Then Michelles "Lets Move" website: http://www.letsmove.gov/

Truly retarded administration there. When I go to work today, going to make sure to point that out to my co-workers. They are going to love it!eek.gif As this shutdown continues. Makes me not want to vote a democrat into office next year. With the sheer stupidity of this administration!

  17.

However, you did provide a link to a site that has a graph showing the arctic ice is still well below its 1981-2010 average, despite its recovery from historic lows. Well below average. Let that sink in, while you ponder which position that's consistent with.

And the Antarctic? Why is it that you wont mention the Antarctic? Does it have a less significant role than the arctic? Let that sink in! While you try to support a position that is continually being proven false.. over and over... again!

  18. Thanks for pointing out the exact date (27 Aug) when it got too icy to pass through.

Up till then it was Summer and you could sail there.

    Which is what I said.

So it's hardly misrepresentation- hype perhaps, since it's not quite the pole..

Of course, the details of when you can sail how far North will depend on the weather.

The point remains that there's less ice than there used to be.

I am very happy to point that out. Why? Because you stated Summer. Which lasts til Sept 21st. August which is on average the hottest month of the year in the Northern Hemisphere is a part of Summer. August 27th the date of that article is still summer. Please do not cherry pick. Just like you tried to cherry pick what was actually said in the original article. While the arctic is still recovering from previous years of ice loss the Antarctic is breaking all time records. To help you understand, since you had to use sailing as a way to attempt a point(worthless). Here is the fullest and latest data on ice loss and ice extent. http://nsidc.org/arcticseaicenews/

Next time I would learn to do some data mining before actually trying to prove a point! Especially if you do not know what you really are talking about!

  19. The first page you cite there is just silly.

    It says things like

    "From the 2013 IPCC Report

    clip_image019_thumb.png?w=648&h=78

This is a gross misrepresentation of data. The Antarctic ice sheet has not been losing mass—the East Antarctic ice sheet, which contains about 90% of the world’s fresh water, is not melting–it’s growing! The same is true for Antarctic shelf ice. The only part of Antarctica that may be losing ice is the West Antarctic Peninsula, which contains less than 10% of Antarctic ice."

But it ignores that fact that you can now sail to the North pole in Summer

So who is really doing the gross misrepresenting?.

It is true that the Antarctic ice is growing at the moment.

We know that, and we know why.

    http://www.washington.edu/news/2013/09/17/stronger-winds-explain-puzzling-growth-of-sea-ice-in-antarctica/

so it doesn't in any way detract from the basic point.

But avoiding any reference to that explanation is grossly misrepresenting the truth.

    http://www.sail-world.com/USA/North-West-Passage-blocked-with-ice%E2%80%94yachts-caught/113788 misrepresentation! Hmmm..

Also if you follow the commentary of the original article posted. There is further explanation.

  20.

The map of cold records there shows there was a cold snap over the midwest and east, and a hot flash over the rest of the country - it's about a 60/40 split, eyeball area. Of course, there are lots more weather stations and cities and such reporting cold records where there are more cities and such in the first place, if that's where the cold snap is, so a spike temp record count is not automatically informative.

There's nothign there indicating the duration of the heat vs cold anomalies - IIRC the heat waves lasted longer than the cold snaps SW at least.

I see Minnesota reporting several cold records - it was cool here for a bit, followed by a solid ten days of consecutive upper 90s with high humidity after Labor Day, really unusually miserable hot weather for this area, but no heat records on the map because there is no icon for duration and a midcontinent spot like this gets dramatic spikes in temps short term - it's hard to set a heat record here in the summer, with the Dust Bowl on the books (cool winters, hot summers, because it was dry in the summer. Wet summers don't get as hot, or at least they didn't used to).

Most of the warming trend here, btw, is visible in the failure to drop at night in the winter like it used to. As a result we get rain in January every winter now, where it used to be maybe one year in seven, rather than hot days in August. We got rain again this year - not visible on the record map there.

Why are you posting such articles here? This is "objective global warming", not "how can I recommend diverting all the money to modeling by my pet scientists while implying the IPCC spends too much time modeling".

Because the IPCC is grossly misrepresenting, if not, straight out lying to meet its agenda. Which is not scientific nor "Objective". You can read the real deal here at FACTS VS FICTION: http://wattsupwiththat.com/2013/10/03/the-2013-ipcc-ar5-report-facts-vs-fictions/

Scientists who actually support the IPCC. Should have both tenure and whatever agenda given grants stripped away. As they are truly not scientists, but rather disguised agenda driven politicos!

  21. Liberals invented that idea. Ideas, in general, are liberal phenomena.

The question then becomes how much damage we are willing to do to the country to avoid disturbing the apathy of the ignorant, imcompetent, adn uncaring.

Considering the only people hurting once again will be the low information citizen. Definitely not the government. A update:http://washingtonexaminer.com/wheres-sense-of-crisis-in-a-17-percent-government-shutdown/article/2536862

Only the people who are using government assistance seems to be affected. WIC, Foodstamps, Mortage services ect. Only state services are running . So the little guy(poor, single mothers, low income families) gets screwed and take the brunt of the shutdown! Just wonderful!
